Also, be prepared that from the menu, which is already not large and in Russian (at least some kind of plus), half usually does not happen. Even if you order, for example, a large plate for the company (as it is written on the menu, but it is not at all large), then half of it may easily not be. Just like everything else on the menu. We rested for 10 days and all 10 days early in the morning during breakfast, I asked them to cook coconut pudding for me for dinner, indicated on the menu. Alas and ah, apparently the coconuts are over, I never tried it (4. They won’t look for some other cafes near the hotel. There aren’t any. You need to go somewhere by tuk tuk and then you will find a cafe, but 4.1 you need to know where to go 4.2 with a child, for example, you don’t run into a lot (considering how they drive there, it’s generally dangerous. The “hotel owner” scared us by the fact that they were impostors and in general they took the money, but they would not take us anywhere. That they say you need to go only with him. But since we arrived on the day when the "owner" was not there and did not receive any information, and the guide dropped us off at the entrance to Colombo with the phrase "this driver drives well, he will take you to the hotel. " Then we didn’t know at all where and to whom to go, from whom to learn something and see the most important thing - the price for services... Then it’s just from the vacationers in the hotel (and there are only Russians) that we found out the contacts of the locals, whom you can trust and went on an excursion. Which, in general, were not very impressive, but we apparently have already seen a lot of beauties of this world and it is difficult to surprise us. All the same, you will be taken to all the shops where you need to buy something, as this is the “best place”, according to the guide. All the same, you should leave everyone a tip. And they will give you money to everyone who can. Do you want to take a picture in the tea plantations? Be prepared for the fact that granny, not the most pleasant appearance, will sometimes stick around you and persistently climb into the frame, then asking for a dollar for a photo with them. Maybe it doesn’t annoy someone, but I don’t understand at all why I owe everyone and everything in this country. I sincerely wanted to leave something, for example, to the driver who drove us around the country for 2 days, to the beach workers who entertained and watched the child on the beach, although these are not their duties. The staff who fished crabs with us in the evenings and were ready to organize fishing on the shore next to the hotel. For such cases, of course, it is worth taking something with the symbols of the Russian Federation, they are really happy about it. They all live very poor, and comparing their home with ours, you understand how much we do not appreciate and how much we have. But, for example, I didn’t want to leave a tip of 10% of the tip in the hotel to the waiters, who, referring to the rain that was 2 hours ago, with the clear sky cleared, did not want to put the dinner table outside, scaring them that “maybe it will rain”. Or those who do not admit their mistakes at all, exposing us to 2 dishes of everything that we ordered and expecting that we will pay for it, because when we came up to clarify dinner at 7 and once again repeated everything that we ordered for the evening, the talented waiters did not thinking, decided that this is the 2nd order. Those without even specifying, if they misunderstood something, they put out 2 plates of fish, 2 plates of rice, 2 plates of something else to us and think that we will pay for everything. Although they are all wonderful, but because of their mentality, they sometimes hang out, dumb down with sincere kindness. Since we were going to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday, we were extremely surprised when we saw a cake with candles, which we discussed in advance, in the form of a purchased cake (ala our waffle) and a candle with a candelabra. Although "Roy" promised us that since you are relaxing at the ROY Villa hotel, you will have a birthday cake and wow... just what. They, of course, made an inscription on it. The table was decorated for us. But in order to have at least music in the hall in the evening, you had to pay 20 bucks per hour to a DJ who would come. Although music usually plays every morning in the hall. But it was necessary to make money on us, since we abandoned the elephants on the beach and the snake show, then, apparently, at least on music. In general, of course, everyone is different, but we sincerely wondered who wrote such good reviews about this hotel. Apparently those who came to him only to spend the night. Everything is redeemed only by a clean beach and ocean. Territory is tiny, nowhere to walk. No entertainment, no animation, of course. Nice massage by a lady. A man, alas, loves to stroke you more (especially your chest). But not everyone's skin accepts their Ayurvedic oils. I have an allergy, for example. Since a familiar local resident brought us to see a hotel where only Germans live, we have something to compare with. There are definitely great hotels in Sri Lanka, but not Roy Villa. In the hotel for the Germans in the bay, everything is gorgeous, the waves do not knock you out of the water and really swim. At least we have a great beach, but only for riding the waves. You can only swim in the pool. The most interesting thing is that our hotel cost 65 dollars per day only for breakfast, and for the Germans (I remember the name, I will add) 55 per day with dinner and breakfast.
