This is my second time in Sri Lanka, I chose a hotel based on reviews, I liked the arrangement of the territory itself. All rooms in this hotel with ocean access, there was one unpleasant moment, at the reception they wanted $ 50 for early check-in. We were placed in a room with a sewer smell. I had to walk, talk, remind, and the next day, we were moved to another room, on the 3rd floor, where, as for me, the rooms are better, at least the view is better, the trees do not close.

In the room with cleaning there are problems, despite the fact that you leave a tip. The food was delicious, including desserts, but there wasn't much variety. We went on an excursion, they packed a good lunch box for us with them, returned after dinner, they also brought lunch boxes to our room. Another unpleasant moment, they wanted to evict us a day earlier, we had to figure it out, bring documents and explain that we were leaving not on the 14th, but on the 15th, roughly speaking. The location is good, there are a lot of establishments nearby, in any one you can eat normally for adequate money. The infrastructure is developed, everything is nearby, there are no problems with this. From the pleasant moments, I can note that they congratulated me on my birthday, baked a very tasty cake, brought it to the room, it was a wonderful compliment from the chef. In principle, I liked everything, with the exception of some moments.

There are few people on the beach, many are on excursions, and along the coast you can stop anywhere, at the hotel the beach is very comfortable, it’s nice to go into the water, you can swim to the island, the waves are not big.

There is a diving center. If you walk from the hotel on the left side along the coast, after two turns you will come to the beach for surfing. Board rental 1000 rupees without an instructor, $ 20 with an instructor, they speak English and German. They will put on a wave in an hour.
When you leave the hotel, you can go to the Elephant home restaurant for an inexpensive, very tasty meal, always fresh shrimp in the fridge, the chef cooks delicious food, you can also stay there if you have a late flight, they rent rooms by the day. Sumal speaks Russian.
I advise you to go to their shop if you like pebbles (sapphire), he makes very interesting jewelry to order, cheaper than in Kandy and without commission. You can go to the turtle farm, take a boat trip to the mango forests, where you will see crocodiles, monitor lizards and monkeys. Drive a maximum of 15 minutes.
In general, the location of the hotel is very convenient, an hour by train and you are in Galle, 2 hours and you are in Colombo. I really liked the country, sincerely friendly people, pleasant climate!

After the last visit to Egypt - where they extorted 15 USD - it was very pleasant in contrast. Then we asked if we could have something to eat. The restaurant was already closed but the guy offered to give us his biscuits that were left over from dinner. Free and courteous. We were pleasantly surprised by such a nice attitude. All the following days, all the staff were polite, everyone tried very hard and fulfilled any request in a matter of minutes. I have not met the best service, especially since it is 4.
The room had everything you need - air conditioning, mini bar, TV, balcony, tea / coffee. Cleaned up every day.
The dining room is very clean. A good hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, fruit (pineapple, papaya, watermelon, passion fruit, bananas), yogurt, fried bacon, puffs, salads, etc. Dinner was also very pleasing. Lots of meat, fish, chicken. Some dishes are too peppery for Europeans, but they were signed that they contain curry and those who do not like a lot of pepper are not taken.
Germans, Italians, Indians and a couple of Ukrainians had a rest.

Calm and comfortable. In a sense, a pensioner's option. Who needs to move not to this hotel and not to Sri Lanka in principle.
The hotel is located on line 1. Ocean view from room and restaurant. Complete relaxation and relaxation.
If we consider the beach itself, then in my opinion the reef that is located directly in front of the hotel and delays the waves is rather a minus than a plus. (in previous reviews, people were just happy about this) Because of this natural barrier, the water is more cloudy and foam accumulates. But on the other hand, on those days when there are big waves and you can’t swim anywhere, there is such an opportunity opposite the hotel. The only negative for me personally was the Bentota River a little higher than the hotel, which carried muddy river water with it. It is very full-flowing and, mixing with the waters of the ocean, made the water again more muddy than upstream. So we went to bentotabiche by tuk-tuk or walked and crossed by boat.
From vacation the best impressions, I can advise you to take a hotel cheaper, but for more days, because the island is very rich in sights, various excursions, just for its color, kind sympathetic people. I really want to return.
