Unforgettable vacation and excellent guide Patum!
Choosing a country for a honeymoon trip, my husband and I chose Sri Lanka and never regretted it! After reviewing a bunch of links and reviews, we decided to go to Koggala, Long Beach 4 * - open ocean, waves, almost always an empty beach, a large and clean area. A long flight, a tedious transfer in a large bus did not spoil the impression of the country and the hotel, which we really liked! I’ll make a small correction - back at home we actively read the reviews of tourists about our hotel and everyone vied with each other to praise the guide Patum (just in case we wrote down his number back in Ukraine) Arriving and settling in We, of course, basked on the beach : -) And Patum himself us there I found it! ) He suggested where it is better to buy fruits, souvenirs, and also offered to take them by tuk-tuk to Unawatuna for a swim in the lagoon for free. As a result, on the very first evening we agreed to go on a two-day tour of the country (in my opinion, it is the most expensive of his list). But trust me, it's worth it! Lots of attractions, elephants, train rides, temples, a beautiful hotel with a gorgeous panoramic view of the jungle, dinner and breakfast, all entrance fees. . . and much cheaper than the guide at the hotel! The conditions for the tour are absolutely acceptable: a small comfortable minibus with air conditioning. The tour is amazing: Dambulla, Sigiriya, Nuwara Eliya, tea plantations, tea factory, spice gardens, Kandy and the Temple of the Tooth Relic, The majestic nature of Sri Lanka, many waterfalls, magnificent temples, a trip by local train, always delicious and inexpensive food. We listened to a lot of stories about Sri Lanka and the locals (By the way, Patum has a great sense of humor, thanks to which every story about the city we passed turned into a joke). As a result, Patum and I became good friends. If you need to have dinner and do not want to go to a cafe, no problem: Patum will cook and bring everything you want (shrimp (the photo below shows how gigantic they are), crabs, tuna, coral fish. Moreover, he often "forgot" to take money from us for this : -) And also became close friends with his team (Sandyu, Kuma, Sandal) - guys, you are the best !! ! In general: almost all the time we took a tuk-tuk from Patum (he has 3 or 4 tuk at his disposal), went for fruit together, dined at his house, took a few more excursions, and just met in the evening and chatted on the beach. If you want to spend your holidays in Koggala fun and interesting - look for it! Patum, thank you so much! !
