I continue a series of video essays about our 3-month trip to Sri Lanka this winter. We started with a review of coastal resorts, and today we will look into Mirissa.

Despite its popularity and crowdedness, we liked Mirissa for its picturesque and relatively diverse locations. Here you can take beautiful pictures, as if from advertising, on the famous Coconut Hill (the main thing is to arrive early, otherwise you will have to fight for space without people).

You can snorkel at the turtle beach (we were not lucky with the transparency of the water, but we were assured that this rarely happens).

Surf at local spots or just jump on the waves at the main beach.

Watch a gorgeous sunset by climbing Parrot Rock with your loved one, and then go for fresh seafood dinner at a beach restaurant while the waves splash at your feet.

But most importantly, you can go on a whale watching tour from here! Sri Lanka is said to be one of the cheapest places in the world to watch these beautiful giants. And it's just amazing! Although we were skeptical after reading disappointed comments on the Internet, with the first fountain of water, we felt an incredible surge of emotions! We liked it so much that we decided to repeat this experience in a month, and did not regret it a bit.
