Monitor lizards are busy with their own, they dig holes right next to the sunbeds, looking askance at their neighbors, looking for larvae, trying to feed them - they don’t eat our food. There are crows on the territory, they talk with chipmunks and everyone else, they catch bread on the fly, but they don’t yell and don’t interfere. We did not see snakes, but it is better not to approach the roots of trees.
There is a person in the hotel who does yoga exercises, interesting. You can play water polo, table tennis, billiards, etc. There is a gym.
We chose the number (from three options) on the third floor in the right wing, if you look at the ocean. Room overlooking the Bentota River and the ocean. The room has all the furniture made of natural wood, spacious and comfortable, there is a bathrobe and slippers, a tea and coffee set (replenished 2 times a day), a large balcony with chairs and a table. If you leave the balcony door open, or even better, crumble a bun, chipmunks and various birds will come to you. Mosquito treatment is carried out periodically, there is a fumigator. It is advisable to use mosquito repellents, because. their bites are at first insensitive and invisible, but after a few days they appear. The bathroom has a set of cosmetics, a hair dryer, a shower cubicle, a washbasin, a toilet bowl, everything is tiled, very well.
A separate story about the kitchen! A full breakfast with several types of meat, side dishes, omelettes, pancakes, pastries, fruits, and of course different fresh juices, but only very sweet ones from mangoes, papaya, pineapples, bananas, etc. , tea, coffee, milk. You can’t take food out of a restaurant, this is tantamount to theft, they can impose a fine. But they always took a banana, an orange, a bun in their hands with them (for the elephant). Lunch is more, but the most important thing is dinner. In Bentota, every day a new themed dinner from around the world with a barbecue in the open area. Very interesting and tasty.
There was also borscht with donuts and dumplings in Russian cuisine. Dinner ended when with fireworks, when with a burning cake, etc.
But the main thing we came for is the ocean! The hotel's beach is wide and long with fine white sand, which falls under your feet, as if sucking you in (unusual feeling), entry into the water is smooth, far to the depth, the water is not always transparent due to constant waves. But you can't swim too far. You need to feel the ground under your feet, because. the ocean is addictive, it is especially dangerous for beginners to engage in water sports. We tried it ourselves - it's impossible! The ocean is not comparable to the sea, the waves are rolling in three or more waves, it seemed that the wave passed, you emerge, and a new, unexpected one covers you. They did not see any living creatures in the sea, only on the sand there were jellyfish thrown ashore, the locals were afraid of them. Fishermen fish from the shore or from the rocks, but the catches are not very good. When the sea is stormy, they hang out a red flag, but our people always swim! Everyone else is in the pool. The boundaries of the beaches are not marked, to the right about a kilometer to CLUB BENTOTA 4 * and to the left, about the same to VIVANTA BY TAJ (ex. TAJ EXOTICA) 5 *, then many kilometers of beach with different terrain. The beach is clean, especially near the hotels.
