Good day to all. we booked the tangerine beach hotel 4 *, as the ratio of positive reviews about it was much higher and this hotel is not so far from Colombo airport. The flight from Kharkov is tedious, with a change in Dubai. do not expect special shopping - the flight to Colombo does not start from the first terminal and the duty free set is not so hot. rested in a deluxe room (normal repair of the Soviet level, quite sufficient and clean). the territory is wonderful, the ocean is very warm, but the surf is strong (so it is better to rinse the children in the pools). in general, in the description of Lanka, in many ways, the word "very" can be added. very beautiful nature, very warm ocean, very persistent locals))).
trips. were on an elephant farm, in Sigiriya and Jambul. and also rode on the river and mangroves. crocodiles, monitor lizards and other living creatures - at every step. I warn you right away - the trips are tiring, even in an air-conditioned car. riding an elephant and feeding the baby elephants is better on a farm (and cheaper and longer than in a hotel). nutrition. We ate at several restaurants near the hotel. but most of all I liked Lily (exit from the hotel to the left, walk 100 meters, on the right side of the road there is a low building with columns). the owner understands a little Russian. The Sea Shell restaurant, which was praised by many in the reviews, did not inspire. of the beach-boys, we only talked with Prasann (he speaks good Russian and easily organized a tour of the trip on our order). now about the "cons". people! do not contact concord exotic voyages! when we arrived at the airport, we could not be accommodated in the car for a transfer to the hotel for a long time. when, finally, we went and weaved through Colombo for an hour and a half, a representative of this company called and said that our room was busy and we would be accommodated for a day in another hotel - Pegasus. not only did the windows of the room overlook the landfill, but the locals did not recommend swimming on the beach near the hotel either, as large ships pass in front of it and the ocean is very dirty there. when, having lost a day, we settled in Tangerine, I met with a representative of this company and expressed our displeasure. about the landfill nearby, they answered me that "but you looked at how the local people work" (literally). The company refused to compensate for the damage, they were ready to accompany our vacation only if they bought an excursion program (more expensive than beach-boys). summary: the country is wonderful, nature and the ocean are one hundred percent. but it's better not to go with children (there is no animation there) and most importantly - not with concord exotic voyages!
