A lot of reviews have been written about the trip to Sri Lanka, I will not repeat it. I want to share my fresh impressions - tips, arrived only yesterday.

And so, in order. Zhuliany flew from Kyiv).

The flight is really difficult (FlyDubai via Dubai), but in principle it is tolerable if there is a company, money and mood. You can take food with you without any hesitation or "restrictions". especially alcohol but the selection is very good. You can eat without problems. In the left side of the dutik in the refrigerators you can buy packed sandwiches at an affordable price for further flights, juices and water.

At Colombo airport, you can and should buy a SIM card from a local operator, calls to Ukraine are cheaper than through TravelSim, but the quality of communication is worse. It is not worth changing a lot of money, they accept Dolars almost everywhere and recalculate at a good rate, change is given most often in Rupiah. When leaving the Airport and near the buses, a bunch of "helpers" who grab suitcases, bring them to the bus and demand 1000 rupees, THEY HAVE NO RELATIONSHIP TO THE TRAVEL AGENCIES, send them boldly and harshly, it's better to tip the bus driver, riding on them the roads are a complete extreme, 90 km traveled 4 hours and there are no options, only a helicopter.

I won’t describe the THE PALMS 4 * hotel in Beruwell, the territory is excellent, the service is more or less. When checking in, pay attention to the beds (if you are alone) there are one and a half (and small ones designed for small Sri Lankans), but you can require two single beds, which is more convenient. There is a problem with safes, they break regularly (we have 2 times). Towels and beds are clean but gray, apparently the climate. Breakfasts are still absolutely monotonous, and everything related to meat and fish is VERY spicy, for an amateur. But this, too, can be lived through. In my opinion, the main drawback of THE PALMS 4 * hotel is its location. If you want to enjoy the OCEAN, YOU WILL NOT GET IT HERE! To the left of the hotel, a fairly large Bentota River flows into the Ocean, and flows into the direction of the hotel's beach and is washed by the surf of the ocean, and in the off season (until December) you will swim in a dirty, foamy, low-salt puddle of yellow color, you will not see any blueness and turquoise of the ocean. In season, since December, I don't know. But there is a way out which we unfortunately found on the last day. On the left there is a beautiful island, it is clearly visible with palm trees and lush vegetation.

Walk to him along the beach for 10 minutes, cross the river, the locals take 300 rupees back and forth for two, you can bargain with the company, they work like clockwork. Walk past the mountain and there you will see the real Indian Ocean, beautiful and powerful. The beach is very cool, and we found a section near the coast with a shallow depth, without waves and with clear water, then the waves are also shallow. Although on the last day we enjoyed it. I won’t describe everything else in other reviews, but I haven’t read about this island (or rather a long peninsula). I'll post a photo of it later.
