We were a family with a 7 year old child. Before Sri Lanka, there were two times in Thailand in 5-star hotels. Sri Lanka did not prepare itself for great comfort. We took a two-story room, but the furniture and other attributes leave much to be desired. In general, the territory is well-groomed and guarded, the beach is amazing, moderate waves (the child swam), but sometimes the canoe turned over : ). The cuisine is varied - everyone will find something suitable for themselves. You should not count on great comfort in the rooms (in that country) of hotels in Sri Lanka. In general, I can say that this is the best of those that we passed on the way to the hotel and excursions. The staff is friendly, they speak English well. We dined in a cafe near Pierre (to the left along the beach) - very tasty seafood. For those who have chosen Sri Lanka - I advise the hotel, if comfort is more important than nature - it is better to choose Thailand.
