Who wants to relax at the Hibsscus Beach Hotel 3 *, we want to share our impressions and write how our vacation went, there are always and everywhere cons, but a positive attitude helped make our vacation great. Before choosing a hotel, we read all the reviews about this hotel (especially the negative ones), and our choice was the most successful "price-quality" I'll start from the very beginning. My wife and daughter (8 years old) and I stayed at this hotel from 9/01/13 to 17/01/13. The flight with the Windrose airline is very long - 10.5 hours with refueling in Dubai, without disembarking from the plane (about 1 hour), so we stocked up on films, games and coloring books and all sorts of entertainment for ourselves and the child. Meals on board are paid - $ 15 per person one way (we bought from a tour operator in both directions) and they are fed only in the second part of the flight (after refueling), we recommend stocking up on sandwiches, sweets and any other food to reach Dubai (about 6 hours). Passport and customs control at Colombo airport is simplified - you need to fill out a migration card and pay a visa of $ 35 per person (we also paid this back in Kyiv). You can also pay for a visa with the tour operator before departure, if the child is entered in the passport, a visa is not needed for him. Now the fun part - moving from the airport to the hotel. The distance from the airport to the hotel is 80 km. We were not taken through Colombo and it was 3.5 hours, if you go through Colombo, it will take 4-5 hours (and this is a very cool driver, we drive a car ourselves and know a lot about it) You get used to the roads gradually, sit down where the faint of heart then further away on the bus) The 3 * hotel corresponds to its class, small, cozy, calm, clean. There are small minuses that you can safely close your eyes to (you need to remember that we did not arrive at 4 or 5). There are two swimming pools on the territory, 50 meters from the beach and immediately the ocean. If you are traveling with a child, be careful when riding the waves, sometimes it takes you into the ocean, so you need to go close to the ocean. Wave riding is amazing! Water temperature + 26, air +29. Do not sunbathe in the open sun for a long time and do not splash in the ocean for a long time - you can burn. Take different sunscreens with you (we saved ourselves with panthenol (we bought our Kharkiv, which is very good), and they have Aloe Vera cream for sale - it also helps very well). Meals breakfast + dinner - the food is normal, we were not hungry, sometimes we didn’t even have lunch, and when we wanted to have lunch we went to restaurants. There is one right on the beach on the left, it says "Dima tours" - they ate seafood (lobsters, shrimp, coral fish, shark, barracuda), everything is fresh, tasty, the price of a serving is about 60-120 UAH. Other restaurants are located at a distance of 1-1.5 km from the hotel, we walked. We did shopping at the supermarket, it’s 2-3 km to go to it, but everything is cheaper there, buy fruits in fruit shops, it’s cheaper there, eat a lot of fruits, it’s delicious - bananas, passion fruit, papaya, mango, soursep, pineapples, etc. Tipping was given everywhere for 100 rupees (UAH 6.5-7). We went on excursions with a guide from a tour operator and with locals. With a guide from a tour operator, we went to Kandy for one day (an elephant nursery, a tea factory and a tea plantation, a spice garden, the Temple of the Tooth of the Buddha) we liked it, except for the Temple of the Tooth of the Buddha - this is an amateur. We paid $195 for three. The guide's name was Sange, he spoke Russian tolerably, but you need to ask questions, he tells very little. The second trip was with the guy Dima (this is his restaurant on the beach), he also speaks Russian, arranges excursions, you can bargain with him. We went on a one-day excursion to Galle to the south (a walk along the Kalutara River, a turtle farm, a blue lagoon, a waterfall) - the cost for three was $ 70. he changed dollars for us when we needed it, but the exchange is the most profitable at the airport (keep the exchange receipt in case there are rupees left). The rest was great, the adaptation was excellent, there were no problems, all the medicines were in the bag, which we wish everyone. From the purchases, they brought tea, fruits (bananas, pineapples, papaya, soursop, passion fruit - everything went in luggage, no problems, you just need to pack it well), toothpaste, tooth whitening powder and various little things. You can write a lot, but the most important thing seems to have been written. If you tune in to the positive, then you will get it. Be vigilant and don't let anyone ruin your vacation. Have a nice rest.
