So, we went to rest in the hotel from 11/28/2012 to 12/04/2012. We are 4 girls.
Since I was already on the ShL this year (see the review http://www.turpravda.ua/lk/dikvella/Dickwella_Village-h21290-r68145.html), I knew where I was going).
Flight: same as last time - Air Arabia via Sharjah. I want to tell those who will fly the same way. Considering that meals are for an additional fee, take food from home in your hand luggage, if it is strong. The one on board - as in ordinary charters, sharp and not cheap (11-15 USD complex).
The hotel is located 2-2.5 hours drive from the airport (this is a plus, because the road is already tiring on the plane).
They settled us at 9 am, without additional payments (they simply informed us that they would not give breakfast with dry rations upon check-out, it is not necessary - no one is usually satisfied with them anyway, and so we immediately plunged into rest) and went for breakfast.

Rooms: standard, no frills, there is a mini-bar (we had an empty one), a safe in the closet, no kettle, respectively, tea too, but there is a thermos - you can get boiling water in the restaurant and drink your tea. The bathroom has a shower, washbasin and toilet) what else do you need? ? Towels are not the first freshness, but not “killed” in the trash... Regarding the rooms - they didn’t bother, which ones they gave, they took them, on the 1st floor, which they didn’t regret later - you can safely go outside and lie on the brought slippers . Cleaned up every day. We didn’t understand how they change the bed, it seems that they just restyled it tighter, but it seems like they put a new one. In general, for 6 days, even if they didn’t change - I think this is not a problem, as if at home we change more often! ))
Food: we have breakfast + dinner. Breakfast is the standard for SHL, I understand. Cereals, salads, some pastries, sausages, sausage, cheese, beans, eggs (as you ask, they will cook), tea, coffee. Dinner - one dish of meat, chicken, fish, salads, side dishes (rice, grilled vegetables, potatoes), sweets! (of course, this is not a feast for the whole world like in Egypt or Turkey, but for those who love sweet things to eat and what to choose and what to eat, I, a sweet tooth, had enough), again, tea, coffee.
For lunch, we had supplies from Kyiv in store and once went to a restaurant along the coast. I will not recommend it, because the shrimp was cold, but the barracuda was perfectly cooked (even I, who does not eat fish, appreciated it). The rest was budget, so we didn’t go to restaurants on the beach, there’s nothing to compare with.
We went by tuk-tuk to Kalutara to the market. I want to say that it is better to buy up in a blue-colored market, I don’t remember the name, than in a yellow market, since there is more choice and fresh vegetables and fruits. Fruit was bought by the road in tents.

On this visit, I clearly noticed that if you send a bichboy to buy fruits and vegetables, rum, then the price is 2 times less for sure... When they themselves decided to buy bread, it turned out to be 100 rupees for 1 loaf. Although last time I bought a beechboy for 100 rupees 1 loaf and 4 cakes. And so it is in everything (pineapples also turned out that way - they bought in the market no worse, but at the announced price). I advise you to take a beach boy and buy up with him, you will save money, although he will also earn money for you (at first he bought us rum at 1320 per bottle, and when we finally went home to buy, we already “bought” it at 1510) while the locals were then asked why the price different, they smiled and did not upset us, saying that he took the difference for himself. A trifle, not a pleasant sediment. In fairness, I must say that when they themselves rushed to buy us, the price of 3000 rupees was announced, so everything seemed to be in the black)).
Ocean: I don’t know how it usually is in Kalutara, but we got a great day out of 6 days of rest. The ocean raged, but gave the opportunity to splash on the waves. Do not think about any swimming, hardly. Swimming is in the pool, although it is chlorinated here. But not much. I love the ocean! Once again I was convinced of this. If you're going for a swim, don't go here! (I mean - probably not on the SL, well, or not in this part of the island).
We did not go on excursions - passive rest. But I am of the opinion after the first trip - you need a combined tour (excursion + vacation on the coast) IHMO.
This time we bought tea in the city by weight (it didn’t make sense to go to the tea plantation for the sake of a small amount of tea), but the names of the factories were written on the bags, I flatter myself with the hope that this is still better than Dilmakh and Lipton in supermarkets. Tea tested at home - no regrets. The price is higher than at the factory from 15. u. e. per kg.
Once again I was convinced how many people on the ShL are friendly and peaceful! Buddhism however.
I will say this, a middle-class hotel, no frills, but there is no need to look for complaints either. Given the cost of the tour at that time - the ball! The flight is more expensive, and then the rest.
Oh, right now, I would go there again! )
