Hi all!
The rest is wonderful - Sri Lanka is a beautiful country.
About the hotel:
repair is not bad, the furniture is good, wooden. The towels are clean. Cleaning every day - cleaned very well, fresh flowers left. Took breakfast and dinner. Breakfasts are European like everywhere else. Dinners are very good - like lunches. Lots of different sweets. Fruits are not a great choice - papaya, bananas and pineapples.
We dined in a cafe near the Nisa tour sign - 1000 rupees a huge portion - seafood to choose from + french fries
+ rice + salad.
Spaghetti - 600 rupees.
Prices in other cafes along the beach are about the same everywhere, 100-200 rupees difference.

We got acquainted with the whip-boy Madu. He's a good and decent guy. We went with him by tuk-tuk to Kalutara to the supermarket and to the liquor store (very spicy place). I took only 250 rupees (for example, the remaining 500 wanted). Helped in many ways. In Kandy, too, we went on an excursion with him - $ 60 per person (there were three of us) - the guide from the hotel cost 120. If you get motion sickness in transport, you should not go, the traffic there is terrible and it takes 5 hours to go.
There is a beautiful waterfall with a bunch of monkeys in a 30-minute drive.
We went to Hikkaduwa. On a local train for about an hour (100 rupees a ticket is less than a dollar) and you are on a beautiful beach without huge waves and with a beautiful reef. Just leave early as the return train is last at 15.50.
And about the people. It's a horror - everyone wants money, all the time and everywhere. Sticky to the horror that the last day already wanted to cover obscenities. You will not be able to calmly walk along the beach and do not hope. Every 3 meters they will offer excursions, Ayurveda, massages, coconuts, pareos and other crap. In the city they will point their fingers and turn around, as white people are very rare for them. But if you imagine yourself as Jon Bon Jovi, then their attention ceases to be so frightening.
Be careful - there are people who introduce themselves as a cook from the hotel and offer various types of help, ostensibly for free. Do not be fooled, then they ask for a lot of money - they almost beat them out.
In general, Sri Lanka is beautiful. It's worth going there.
