If the hotel is on the West (Southwest) coast, like Hibiscus or Mermaid, then the wave will be high, even if not frequent, (people of age did not swim, they were simply knocked down, for a person who swims, a little better than an ax , and at least a little strain on the legs - not scary, but very flying away), and there are almost no people on the beach. In the south of the island, the sand is white, the water is blue, but, alas, there are no waves, and there are more people, although, of course, not Sochi or even Thailand.
