We flew with flydubai. This is a budget campaign, food on planes is paid and not cheap, so it’s better to take it from home, it’s allowed, water is also possible. Departure from Kyiv, transfer to Dubai. Upon arrival in Colombomy, they did not find their luggage, we were not alone and we were told that this often happens, your luggage did not have time to be reloaded in Dubai and it will arrive tomorrow. Pleasant little)) but there is no choice, let's go to the hotel (the journey takes about 2 hours). The next day you have to go for the suitcases yourself, the airline does not compensate for any services in such cases. Taxi in both directions is about $70-80. We went by train (~$1 per person one way to Colombo, about 40 minutes drive from South Kalutara station) to Kalutara 4 km, you can either take a tuk-tuk for 200 rupees (~1.

There were waves all the time on the sea, but we love them, so it was not a problem. We have not seen turquoise water and white sand anywhere)) but this did not spoil the impression of Sri Lanka.
3. Nutrition.
We only had breakfasts (they can be ordered to the room if you wish), only all the staff understand only English. You can dine outside the hotel, the prices are almost the same everywhere, soup - $3, second ~ $5-8, sea platter ~$35-40. Not a bad place on the beach on the right Sea Sand, the prices are the same as everywhere else. There you can also take excursions from Boni.
4. Excursions
The most popular are Kandy + Sigiriya for two days, you just need to agree in advance that you will spend the night in a panoramic hotel, a very beautiful view.
You can also visit the Yala reserve, river safari .....in general, in any case, you will be shown an album with photos and you will choose what you like. Prices are on average $40-150 per person (depending on which excursion)
5. WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW!!! ! !
- Take a regular raincoat with you, it will come in handy.
- on the street, locals can come up to you, ask what hotel you are from, say that they work there ....and kindly offer their help, take you to their stalls with oils, etc. all this is a scam! ! ! )))
- you can go to Galle (fort) on your own by train (it will cost several times cheaper)
- if you do not want to spend a lot of money on food, and not a small amount comes out for the whole vacation, then take a few canned goods, instant vermicelli, dry-cured sausage with you ....... )))) it was very useful to us
- prices for all goods, whether it is a supermarket or just a stall, are indicated on the product itself. The cheapest juice in a pack is from 25 hryvnia, Coca-Cola 2 l - 25 UAH, i. e. food prices here are higher than in Ukraine, be prepared for this, otherwise we were told that every penny is worth in Sri Lanka.
