Rested in Sri Lanka in January, the weather was wonderful.
We chose the Royal Palms 5* hotel. Tired of the flight Kyiv-Dubai-Colombo, and another 3 hours to get to the hotel.
The hotel is quite decent. Although, of course, 5 stars does not pull. But, you can put a "four with a minus" on her.
They settled us quickly, on the second floor in the left wing of the hotel (closer to the Tangerine hotel). And it was very
well, because it was not so damp on the second floor (after all, these are the tropics). In addition, it was not heard
the noise of the train that runs past the hotel. From the main entrance to the hotel to the rails - less than 300 meters.
This noise was complained about by our friends who were accommodated in the right wing.
We liked the territory of the hotel (more precisely, two hotels, because they have a common territory).
Clean and tidy. Nice pool, no one bothers anyone.

We were afraid of mosquitoes, but it's in vain. Every evening - they turned on the fumigator and no problems . .
We took breakfast and dinner (HB). Paid to the tour operator. Although, as it turned out later, we overpaid for dinner.
Our friends, who paid only breakfast to the tour operator, agreed in the main restaurant
for cash, that they will be provided with dinner, as well as those who paid for HB. It came out a third cheaper.
I liked the hotel restaurant, although some criticize it. The food is tasty and varied.
Although, seafood in the main restaurant was not enough. Crabs were served once a week.
But, they were very sharp, for an amateur.
On the second day after arrival, our guide from Exotic Tours immediately organized an excursion to Kandy.
The guide took a large bus of tourists (20 people). And it was difficult to pay attention to him.
In addition, while everyone does what he wants . . In general, "everyone was waiting for everyone . . ". The guide hurried anyone.
We didn't go and we did the right thing. Those who went were very tired from the tour.
they left at 5 am and returned at 11 pm.
We rested for several days and received information from fellow countrymen, for which we are grateful.
Near the hotel there are a number of "restaurants" right on the ocean. But, in fact, these are small cafes.
We liked having lunch there. Always fresh lobsters, crabs, fish. Delicious fresh juices (mango, pineapple and passion fruit).
The price is half as much as in the second restaurant of the hotel (the second restaurant of the hotel is called "Havana").
When we were having lunch, a young man who spoke Russian approached us and said: "I am Boni. "
I was delighted, because I have read positive reviews about it. We took off on a trip to Unawatuna,
paid only 50 dollars for the whole day and for everyone.
We traveled in an air-conditioned minibus. The minibus is almost new. The driver, Bonnie and us three people.
We went wherever we wanted: a spice garden, a mine where stones are mined (there is also a store where these stones are sold),

a tea plantation and shop, a reef in Unawatuna, where they swam and snorkeled. The reef is very beautiful.
They were very satisfied. Thanks Bonnie : ). At first we avoided these locals, they seemed very annoying to us.
But in vain, as it turned out. I later regretted the lost fresh and crabs.
This Boni's cafe is called Sea Sand. I am writing this because this information was not enough for me right away.
I am very grateful to our fellow countrymen, everyone there wants to help sincerely ours. This feeling of unity, it still remains in me.
That's probably why I'm writing. And also because people of other nationalities are also decent.
Have a good rest.
