Sri. . .
I'll start right away with the cons. Trouble met us on the plane. We flew by Windrose (they don’t feed on board, food is only on order and for money), a very long flight, there are no free seats so you won’t be able to sleep on 3 chairs, but this is all nonsense compared to the “wonderful” attitude of both the company and the flight attendants . We ordered a special board meal, as a result, we didn’t even sniff it there or back, there were 8-10 of us on board, we were told that this was not a staff problem, and we would eat like everyone else, because we didn’t pay more than they are indignant... in short, a nightmare... I have been flying with Windows for a long time, there were no such problems. They don’t let them out at the refueling to Dubai, they marinate on the plane for an hour, and everything would be fine if the “particularly sympathetic” stewards didn’t put everyone in hysterics in their places, as if they couldn’t stand in the aisle, it’s almost 10 hours to fly and 1 stupid refueling, and sit all the time, sorry, but this is not normal.
Now about the country: Upon arrival, you immediately feel strong humidity and hellish heat, but over time you get used to it, and there are no problems. On the way to the hotel, go through the whole of Colombo and already here you can see the real Lanka. Shacks and beggars next to chic skyscrapers and Hilton hotels, there is everything here, both beauty and horror, the transfer to the hotel did not tire and was very informative.

Hotel: Just amazed, met with sandwiches and passion fruit juice, everyone is accommodated as requested, the staff is high-class, and very friendly. We lived in bungalow 806 overlooking the ocean, the room is large, clean, the furniture is new, everything is just super, even though the hotel is 4, but it deserves another star! In the room every day water and tea coffee!! ! If there is any request, they will fulfill it in 5 minutes and without a tip, and if you also give a tip, then just an asterisk from the sky. Cleaning in the room is just wonderful, toiletries are replenished every day. On the territory of a beautiful lawn overlooking the ocean and access to the pool. The pool doesn't smell like chlorine. Not far from the hotel, on the left, if you look at the ocean, there is a cafe where they cook seafood, I read in the reviews that they were good guys, but honestly they constantly smoked ganj because of which it was simply not possible to eat, such a pin that I had to just leave as a non-smoker, and so every day and evening. True, friends saved me, we took out the tables almost to the beach and dined under a lonely lantern, very romantic, but the smell... was everywhere. Look at the bill, the guys charge 10 percent for the service, which in general you want to pay or not, but here the question is not even worth paying and everyone is still waiting for a tip. Although the seafood is fresh, well cooked, but the place is plastic chairs and tables, the waiter does not even speak English! On the first day they brought an order with a huge portion of rice and salad, on the following days the portions were reduced, sometimes they were simply forgotten. I was personally impressed by the establishment in the city called Cinnamon tea or cafe, if I’m not mistaken, a summer playground with fans, but it’s not hot there, there’s not a single mosquito in the evening, small lamps are placed under the table, there is a buffet, there is a menu, they make wonderful fresh juices and I was impressed fish fingers with spicy sauce, the prices are the same as everywhere else, even though the waiters are in white and speak excellent English, and the service is like in a restaurant. The restaurant is located near the turn to the Hibiscus Hotel on the highway. There is no 10% and everything is just perfectly cooked and delivered to the table with a smile.
Supermarkets: From the hotel at 1.5 there is an arpika supermarket and a food city, you need to go towards Kalutara along the central highway. Supermarkets have a great selection of fruit and snacks. I really liked the local crackers, and the sweet biscuit, especially the herb crackers - that's not it! We bought red rice home right there in the market - the whole family liked it very much, it’s a pity that they didn’t take much.
Shopping: We went to Colombo with a hotel guide for clothes - the choice is excellent, prices are pennies, clothes for brands are sewn here, so good clothes at very cheap prices, I especially liked the Odel center - there are all possible souvenirs, prices are just a penny. And at the entrance to Odel there is an ice cream parlor - they make delicious ice cream with passion fruit and pistachios.
Excursions - hotel guide Dima - a wonderful person, helped in everything. We went from Aitken Spence to Nuwara Eliya (there is the best tea in Lanka at the factory, not in shops along the way, but at the Bluefield factory, the price of tea is 1 kg. BOP is 1200 rupees). We went shopping in Colombo with a visit to the Buddhist and Hindu temples and went on a river safari ourselves to look at the living creatures.
Rest left only wonderful memories. And if you go to Lanka, then this hotel will be the best choice.
