We met the New Year 2008! We flew through Delhi from Kiev. We spent the night in Delhi + a one-day excursion. In the evening we flew to Colombo and spent the night already at the hotel.
We liked the hotel. A solid four. We lived in a bungalow. The room is large + a large terrace. Cleaning and change of towels daily. Drinking water in the room is replenished free of charge as bottles are consumed or disappear.
The beach is right under the windows, sunbeds and mattresses are no problem. The ocean is constantly stormy, you can swim, but be careful. The water drags much stronger than in the sea and there is a strong current along the coast. clean up. Further along the coast - boundless wild beaches.

There are no other hotels nearby, native villages are visible in the jungle. The pool is quite large, but the deep part is small. Expanse for children. Ayurvedic massage on the roof. no animation can be heard. Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, Germans and some other Europeans rest in the hotel. There are few Russians. Ukrainians too. The food is peculiar.
Breakfasts are monotonous and not very varied. There are no fresh vegetables. But at the same time they never left hungry. Dinners are much more interesting. There is everything from fresh salads to ice cream with fruits, etc. Alcohol and drinks for money. watermelon, papaya, passion fruit, bananas, mango, lime, orange. All meat and fish dishes are spicy due to curry. At the same time, the stomach is not indignant. Even surprising.
We went on a two-day excursion to Kandy and Sigiriya. Hotels in the center of the island are even better than on the shore. I liked everything. Only excursions to tea and jewelry factories are frankly a scam for tourists. towns near their hotels.
Well, a separate extreme show - the road home. On the way back there was a big gap between flights to Delhi. We were given a double visa and promised that we could plunge into the nightlife of Delhi in order to pass the waiting time. In fact, it turned out that there was no nightlife there no, and after 21.00, not a single sane person goes out into the street. I had to be homeless at the airport for almost 8 hours. Seasoned travelers booked hotels near the airport and spent this time there. this could not spoil a good impression. Who has not yet been to Sri Lanka - I recommend it.
Travel time from the end of December to March. Ocean +25, air +30 in the daytime, +24 in the evening. Humidity is tolerable. Good luck to all!
