Good evening! Just returned from Ceylon this morning. There are enough impressions - both positive and negative. I don't know where to start ...Well, I won't write much, but the main thing that we remembered and, I hope, will be useful in describing the traveler. you understand that everyone wants to fool you and get dollars, well, you're a white tourist, you have hundreds of dollars in your pockets!

1) “I am the chef at your hotel! Yes, as I understand it, they noticed that they are almost indistinguishable in appearance, especially from the beginning. They all begin to offer a tour, bring (to a store and something there forcibly sell you).

We had a case where we took a train to Halle and looked at the train schedule to get home. A man comes up to us, offers us help, says he works on the railway. And then he began to ask - where are we from, what hotel we live in, etc. We sewed it and went on. In 2 minutes

another man runs up to us and says - "Oh, I know you! I work in your hotel!! ! Let's help you, I'll show you where to go" and calls the name of the hotel. I believed at first. I think: "The man said, what is the name of our hotel, that's where it works. " That's the scheme they work ...And a few more came. But, believe me, then we were surprised at the hotel staff and did not see any of those scammers))) So, please, do not be led to such stories.

2) Tuk-tuk drivers, very obsessive, endlessly stop near you when you walk on the threshold, want to bring for money, very cheap and even free. forces, it is better to include the counter.

3) My favorite situation was a couple of meters from the hotel. My husband and I went for a walk on the street where our hotel was. Leaving one house, the man greets us and starts asking us to come in for 2 minutes.

We asked him not to go anyway, but he was very annoying, he told us with his little child that it would be a great honor for him if we came. Pulling us, we can say, by the hand. We came in with crooked faces. He put us in chairs, the woman ran to make us tea. Starting to ask us the standard where we come from and things like that. And we sit and wait for him to say what he wants, because we already knew that nothing just happens here.

Well, he started))) First shaking our hands, then kissing. I think, damn it, fucked up! ! ! And I ask him - "What is the name of our hotel? " He was confused, and pointed to a completely different hotel. I tell him no, we don't live there, we live in another hotel. And he answers me - "I work in two hotels"))))))) and continues - "We had a tsunami here, everything was destroyed and with donations from Russian and Ukrainian tourists, I'm rebuilding my house. "

He pokes me with a notebook, which allegedly contains the amount of donations, and tells us to give at least 1.000 rupees. And then we were the last day, their money was almost gone. I look at him and answer that we no longer have money, and he says - "Dollars will do" (He just tore me! ) I say no, we have very little money and what is left, we have today food. He was very upset that when we got on such "dollarless", we gave him 100 rupees, turned around and left.

In general, a very unpleasant siege. What can you say here - most residents do not want to work, are terribly lazy and are just looking for a tourist to fool today. Unpleasant, men are healthy, and lazy and cunning.

You know, there were many more moments when I regretted choosing this country. But we also came across really sincere people who were happy to help us.

Basically, we turned to women, they are at least adequate)) There were people who just wanted to greet us or wave, without a single "dollar". And nature ....it compensates a lot for the unpleasant ...the ocean, exotic plants and animals ...you will not see this every day! ! ! !!

Apparently, you need to relax here - or take a really good hotel and all inclusive, and do not come into contact with the world outside the hotel, or take backpacks and travel alone around the island. It seems to me that such people are less attached to such people.

What's more - their traffic rules are almost non-existent, on the roads endless squealing of cars, noise, noise, screams of sellers; dirty and many beggars; the sun, which immediately burns the skin (sunscreen must be taken!

); public transport is always crowded; (I baked my face to the wounds in one day, being on the beach before noon); residents speak English, some German and Russian; prices for tourists are too high, so bargain;

In general, the country is interesting and beautiful, but partially neglected by the residents themselves and their attitude towards foreigners. Although we may have been lucky. I think that in time I will have only good memories ...

I hope that my feedback will help someone!
