Good day to all. I recently returned with my husband from Sri Lanka and decided to write a review. I hope it will be useful to someone, because before leaving I read a lot of reviews myself. We lived in the southern part of the island in the city of Kogalla, at the Club Koggala Village3 * hotel, which is located on the first line, near the ocean. Of course, if someone is used to chic and relaxing in 5 *, you are not here. But I want to note that the hotel itself is not even bad. The room has everything you need, and if something is missing, at your request they can deliver it to the room (for example, an iron). Cleaning was carried out regularly, change of towels too. Bed linen was changed once in 14 days. Every day, 2 bags of tea, coffee, dried cream and sugar, 2 bottles of 0.5 liters of water were brought to the room. Our tour included breakfast only (buffet). The breakfasts were a little monotonous, but anyway, you could find your favorite dishes for yourself and never left hungry.
The territory of the hotel is not large, well-groomed enough, there is a swimming pool, which is well looked after and cleaned regularly. The beach is wide and clean, there are very few people. For people who like to party, the clubs and bars of Kogalla are not the best option. It is more suitable for a quiet and relaxing holiday. The ocean is very warm and beautiful, but quite dangerous. Going above the belt is risky, the current is so strong that it can carry you into the open ocean. We were lucky, in a 5-minute walk from the hotel there is a bay where it is safe to swim, even for children. In this bay we met 2 charming, large turtles. It is known that there are many attractions in Sri Lanka and it is famous for its 8 UNESCO monuments. Therefore, we did not sit in the hotel, but every day we traveled around the nearby cities and beaches. We went to Mirissa, Unawatuna, Galle - cities with very beautiful and picturesque beaches.
But the brightest and most memorable excursion, which you should definitely go to, is the 2-day Kandy - Sigiriya. We were taken to it by the local beach boy Mano, he is fluent in Russian and English. We were lucky to meet Mano on the beach near the hotel. The excursion on the 1st day includes a visit to an elephant nursery, a tea factory, waterfalls, the Royal Botanical Garden, the Temple of the Tooth Relic, an overnight stay at the very top of the mountain in a hotel with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains (breakfast and dinner are included in the price of the excursion). 2nd day visit the temple of the goddess Uma Parvati in Matale, the temple of the Golden Buddha, climbing the Lion Mountain of Sigiriya. The organization of the tour was at its best, nowhere did they waste time on unnecessary waiting and shopping. We traveled on a comfortable bus for 8 people (our group consisted of 6 people) with air conditioning and comfortable seats. Russian-speaking guides were waiting for us everywhere.

The length of the entire route in both directions is almost 1000.00 km. We would like to note that in addition to the listed attractions, you will see a lot of stunning views from the window of the local nature of this beautiful country. The cost of the entire tour is $115. USA. I had to pay extra only for the entrance to the botanical garden 10 dollars. USA. Mano really turned out to be a very honest, decent and cheerful guy. We read a lot of good reviews about him before coming to Sri Lanka. Mano introduced us to his family. We visited him many times. We were treated to delicious tea and shrimp. They even gave us a patty on the beach with a fire, freshly caught fish and perfectly cooked large shrimp. My husband went fishing with his uncle and brother more than once. Mano brought everything we asked for to the hotel without any problems - ready-made shrimp with sauce (1 kg 1200 rupees), local alcohol (Lion beer - 280 rupees, Calypso luxurious red rum 2400 rupees for 750 ml), fruits. Two weeks flew by like one day.
Didn't want to leave. Mano and his family were said goodbye as if they were good friends. And at the first opportunity we will gladly return to this wonderful country, in which all people are smiling, kind and sympathetic.
For those who decide to relax in Sri Lanka, I advise you to contact Mano via Viber and find out all the points you are interested in +94773425335. Say hello from Kostya and Lena from Odessa.
