We flew out of Donetsk with Flydubai, loaded with food and ready to miss our connecting flight in Dubai, but everything went great, we were only an hour late, we ran through security in Dubai in 20 minutes and were again in the sky. We arrived in Colombo at 3.40 local time and for another 3 hours unsuccessfully waited for the late Kievites, who arrived only in the evening. Therefore, the two of us were taken on a mikrik to the first Sigirya Village hotel. In three days, we got acquainted with almost all the sights, never ceased to be surprised by the beauty of the island, visited an Ayurvedic salon, bought tea and jewelry, and, happy as elephants (we also managed to ride them), we went to the coast.

A lot has already been written about the fact that Koggala Beach has an excellent beach, I will write again that yes - the beach is excellent, better and cleaner than all nearby hotels, even their complex. We were settled in a bungalow at the very back of the hotel, closer to Koggala Village, at first we wanted to move, and then we found many advantages in this. If you live in the main two-story building, there will be better repairs and a TV (with local TV))), but there everyone is pushing each other on their heads and access to the ocean is a little worse, plus all rooms up to 512 have two exits, so it is very audible track. We stopped at No. 515, everything worked, the room was quiet, it was close to the Village, and there WI-FI was 10 times better than in the Beach, and of course the access to the beach was direct five meters away.
Be prepared for a very modest interior, for holes in the sheets and towels, for dead sunbeds. We were ready and this holiday did not overshadow us, we went not to lie in the room. They cleaned well, for 100 rupees the boy twirled swans, decorated everything with flowers, he tried very hard for my DR, decorated everything and even brought us either a coconut to try, or to anoint himself with scarlet)
The food, in my opinion, is not super, you definitely won’t be hungry, but the food is not always tasty. In addition to national diabolically spicy dishes, cooks did not deny themselves the pleasure of adding hot pepper to sweet milk oatmeal and sweetening mashed potatoes. Fresh fruits, delicious pineapples, papaya, green and yellow bananas, watermelon.
The neighbors in the bungalow on the very first day were poisoned by shrimp, which they bought from beach-boys. Guides and travel agents talk about it a hundred times, but people want the exotic. Do not take anything from them, go to Unawatuna, eat the same shrimp in Happy Banana or Rock Willa, and swim in the lagoon at the same time.
By the way, about the lagoon. If you turn your back to the hotel and go along the beach to the left, you will find a nice little lagoon where you can swim calmly, see sea hedgehogs, crabs, newts, fish, and if you're lucky, then a turtle.
The sun. Very hot, very active, take creams before and after, hats, for the first time in my life the skin on my head burned out.
Hotel guide Roman. He has not needed you for three hundred years, his favorite expression is "Well, I ran away! " It seems that here, these tourists come, interfere with his rest.
We went to Galle ourselves, by bus for 140 rupees round trip)) We looked at the fort, climbed on the fish and clothing market, ate ice cream, bought souvenirs and back, our neighbors were afraid, we went with a tuk-tuker for $ 7, but we really liked it exactly by ourselves.

At 19.30 night falls and there is absolutely nothing to do, there is a small club, we looked there, the waiters boys dance) There is a bar, you can sit, stagger around the territory of neighboring hotels, we occupied ourselves, mostly with each other)
Tips. Everyone wants them, drivers, cleaners, women on tea plantations, guides on excursions, musicians in a restaurant, etc. , etc. , we gave, little by little, and gave chocolates)
