Wonderful hotel on the outskirts of Ahangama in a peaceful location. The hotel is located on the first coastline, although it is expensively separated from the ocean, along with this, the ocean is no further than 50 meters. True, the small beach opposite the hotel, which also serves as a pier for fishing boats, is not suitable for swimming, since corals and stones come close to the shore (but this is a wonderful place for snorkelers and in the evening you can watch a huge number of crabs and hermit crabs). The hotel has wonderful staff: all sunny, sociable, helpful and cultured. We made friends with the director Samit and the administrator Absera, they are cool. In addition, it so happened that we were practically alone in the hotel (we rested in early April 2019, as it turned out, in the hottest time of the year), only a couple of times for a few days other tourists came, with whom we practically did not intersect. Therefore, we did not share the restaurant with anyone, as well as the attention of the staff. They fed us sooooo tasty, and they always asked about our preferences. . They also always asked if we liked it. We cooked a lot of seafood and always with soul. They always gave us freshly squeezed juices. In general, to sum up, we liked the food even more than the usual "all inclusive", despite the fact that we refused the latter for the first time, as it seems to me, this is an indicator. In 5-8 minutes walk from the hotel there is a small cove (very beautiful), where we always swam. By the way, when planning a trip to Sri Lanka, it is very important to know if you can swim. . . And this is not irony. Here in Ahangama, in addition to our bay in the center of the village near the Insight hotel, there is also a more or less calm beach. But unlike our bay, there are still more waves and little shade. And in our bay there was always a shade from the trees. Yes, and it was a real pleasure to be there, because there is a real nature reserve right there: monkeys came in the afternoon, unusual bright birds flew, huge monitor lizards, lizards, chipmunks, etc. walked around. By the way, a peacock flew to the hotel. On our beach, you could also snorkel well, there were a lot of all kinds of fish. Something I little about the hotel. . . We were awesome. Everything in the hotel was clean, floors and dishes. Our room was beautiful and spacious. The food, again, is delicious. The staff is wonderful! And in general, the Lankans are wonderful people. We did not come across any crooks or "grabbers", only decent, smiling and kind. I want to say that Sri Lanka is a magical fairy tale. For us, it was probably the brightest holiday. We were in Asia for the first time. Before that, they were in Bulgaria, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia and Mallorca, but this vacation was somehow different, unusual. I advise everyone both the hotel and Sri Lanka as a whole.
