I want to warn everyone who considers this hotel as an option for relaxation. Be prepared to be robbed right in your room. That is exactly what happened to us.
This is our third visit to Long Beach.
The previous two times were in 2013 and 2015. Previously, everything was quite normal, so we decided not to seek adventure, but flew to the same hotel.
It turned out that the decision was unsuccessful.
Or maybe the downtime due to the lockdown affected the situation and the hotel staff or something, but this visit was unforgettable.
Settled half a day, although the hotel had a maximum of 20 guests. All rooms are empty. But still they went around in circles, dragging their feet, trying in every possible way to get a bribe for the settlement before 14:00.
This hotel was not famous for its cleanliness and order before the lockdown, but now it is a hell of a hell. Plaster from the ceiling falls in front of the astonished guests.

Everything smelled, covered with mold and fungus. Food - you have not seen this anywhere, I'm sure. The same ten trays with the same slop every day. Even penny-priced bananas were given only for breakfast and no more than three bananas for 20 people. So that everyone had enough fruit, they were cut into small pieces, so small that they could only be taken with a toothpick. This is absolutely no humour. There was an impression that the staff mocks the guests and shoots this trash with a hidden camera. Fried chicken literally stank of rotten meat. I don’t even know what to say about the condition of the rooms, beds, shower room. Literally everything stinks in two years of inactivity.
Well, in order to consolidate the pleasure of the rest, the staff climbed into our safe and stole $ 200. It should be noted that not everything was taken. They left a little for us too, probably hoping that the theft would go unnoticed. The management of the hotel is clearly in proportion with those who steal, because there was absolutely no reaction to the fact of theft. Nobody cares.
When I said that I would call the police, the manager began to convince me that I would not be able to fly home until the end of the investigation. I was just dumbfounded by such a move. I went to the police myself, wrote a statement, but even there the whole story only amused the policemen.
Later, local taxi drivers said that money is stolen regularly in Long Beach and should not be surprised.
We told our story to the neighbors, and they say: “We also lost $100 from the safe. ” As a result - decide to go to Long Beach, stock up on smecta, rehydron and carry everything of value in your pockets, do not leave anything of value in the room. Have a good rest in beautiful Sri Lanka!
