When planning to go to Sri Lanka, we chose a hotel for a long time, and finally decided to stay in Kosgod. the first thing that puzzled me was that the road from the airport to the hotel took 5.5 hours (this despite the fact that we traveled by taxi, no one needs to be delivered to hotels! ). Arriving at the hotel, they put us in a room, entering which we thought that the taxi driver had taken us to another hotel by mistake. since we traveled almost a day, we decided to leave the showdown until the morning. having gone for breakfast, having examined the territory, it became clear that we were stuck.
breakfast: sausages/bacon, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, chicken waste, tea, coffee, papaya/bananas/pineapple. (we only had breakfast included).
Rooms: Never trust the photos! after the tsunami, in 2004, the hotel has never been renovated! mold and fungus on the walls! some rooms have two air conditioners - one is about to die, the second was chosen by rats! and lucky if the air conditioner works! in almost all rooms DO NOT WORK (this is at a temperature of 32C)! the fans are taped to the ceiling with adhesive tape, electrical tape and adhesive tape! the rooms are illuminated with 4 lamps, 25 watts each! bed linen and towels - do not change, almost all linen is torn! cleaning in the rooms - one name! sand scattered in the corners, and went to clean another room! only two channels are shown on TV - advertising and sports (moreover, some kind of local one). no hot water in any room! the slate flew off in many rooms, and every night various reptiles come through these cracks (such as monitor lizards, iguanas, centipedes), and of course an infinite number of mosquitoes, as if to their home! there are safes in the rooms, but almost nowhere they work. and if you are lucky, and the safe works, then closing it - check several times whether it is exactly closed. phone also doesn't work. Internet is offered for 5 dollars per hour (and Wi-Fi does not work, only a modem - one for all guests! ). demanding the best number is useless - they are all almost the same! the difference is only with ocean or lagoon view. moreover, they immediately settle with a view of the lagoon, then, if the room does not suit you, they move it for $ 500 to a room with an ocean view, but if this room does not suit you, then, for $ 75, they move to Duplex. and in that order.

territory: beautiful, sometimes well-groomed, landscape. sun loungers are only by the pool. the staff must be asked to bring a mattress and towels (again, they only bring torn). The territory of the hotel (from the side of the beach) is fenced with barbed wire, behind which are the so-called beach boys, and as soon as the hotel guests go beyond the fence, they will immediately shake them like a pear, offering exorbitant prices for "guide" services. there is no beach. after swimming in the ocean, you go out covered in sand (the wave is very strong, it nails you straight to the ground - several people were injured while we "rested" in this "paradise"), you can only wash it off at home.
service: it simply does not exist!
I want to add that we are not demanding people, we came to rest and not sit in the room. however, when we pay $180 per night, we would like the comfort and services that the hotel describes. I would also like to receive money and do nothing for this! to come again to this country - hardly decide!
