Hi friends! To begin with, they chose Unawatuna in Sri Lanka for the fact that there is an excellent ocean without waves and you can safely swim! The trip was organized on our own and we were looking for an inexpensive, cozy hotel and, of course, we read a lot of reviews. We found this wonderful place on booking and were not mistaken! The hotel was built in 1735 by the Dutch governor in colonial style with a large, green area! 2 pools, but swim in one of the largest. On the territory of 2 two-story buildings with balconies and several buildings, more precisely, also two but one-story. We took a superior room with a balcony overlooking the mountain and the jungle. The room has everything for relaxation: a refrigerator, a shower, a hairdryer, a kettle with coffee and tea, everything is on the topic and nothing more! Wi-Fi is available in the hotels. Generally clean, comfortable and cleaned every day. Bottled water all the time, towels are as white as bed linen. The staff is friendly, helpful, smiling and all speak English.
In the rooms the silence of the neighbors did not hear at all. By the way ice was free if asked to bring. Read reviews that someone paid. We didn't have that. Breakfast is good, varied and tasty. Tea, coffee, scrambled eggs, omelettes, cucumbers, tomatoes, sausages, toast, fried potatoes, some kind of potato pancakes, salads, rice, pasta, vegetable mixes, bananas, watermelons, breakfast cereals with milk and so on. You definitely won't be hungry. They took only breakfast, and for dinner they went to different cafes, there are a lot of them. The hotel has a large territory and a lot of different animals that roam there. The Discovery Channel is the real one or Animal planet))) Chipmunks, peacocks, monitor lizards, monkeys, jaguanas, lizards, mongooses, porcupines))) We were visited by two types of monkeys: macaques with fashionable bangs


and langurs, black-haired with a white muzzle and lower back that live only in Sri Lanka. Very good! Such solitude with nature. Wild Sri Lanka, so to speak.
The place is magical, unusual, and the sounds of the jungle are mesmerizing. The pools are clean and in the morning early cleaning throughout the hotel constantly. Booked a transfer from the airport through the hotel and back. Drive 3 hours in a good car with air conditioning from Colombo to Unawatuna. We took $85 when we went to the hotel and $67 back. Booking takes 25% when we made an order through it, and it turned out cheaper than a taxi back because we took it directly from the hotel at the reception. Upon arrival, we were treated to two types of sandwiches plus french fries. We thought it was a compliment from the hotel, but no) Upon departure, they included it in the price of the bar for us and this sandwich came out expensive to us, more precisely 2 sandwiches))) 1600 r for our money. So if you are treated to dinner upon arrival, then understand this for a fee. There are almost no Germans in Russian hotels. Security in the territory is all calm and quiet. Surveillance cameras everywhere, a safe in the room and all things, money intact, nothing disappeared.
I will say that we all liked it very much and left with tears in our eyes. I would definitely go back there a second time and recommend it to everyone! I also want to say about the reception staff. Check out is usually before 12:00. And the departure was in the evening and we understandably thought that we would hang out near the bass until 16.00 until a taxi arrived to the airport. So the staff went to meet us! Since we ordered a taxi through them, they extended the room until 16.00 for free and did not check us out at 12. It was very nice that they acted so nicely))) Plus 100 to karma ??? ?
