Going to this hotel, I read the negative reviews on the site and remained in mixed feelings. However, upon arrival, I got the impression that some of the reviewers were vacationing in some other place (reviews with a lot of spelling errors and a bunch of exclamation marks are especially “impressive”). In short, the hotel is quite good, the service is decent, and the nature is suitable for a relaxed holiday. The territory of the hotel is quite rather big, they clean it constantly, palm trees and lawns are everywhere. It has its own fenced beach, behind it is the coast and the ocean, beach-fights and merchants walk near the fence, however, the locals do not sunbathe or swim here. There were enough sun loungers and mattresses for everyone (four of us had a rest), there was no struggle for the right to use them. The ocean is very warm and clear, the only warning is the waves that almost never stop. The weather was excellent all 10 days, no rain, no special heat was observed. As for the rooms, we lived in a bungalow, we were quite satisfied. True, on the first floor we can smell dampness (there is no mold and drips), so for a small fee we were moved to the second floor. The rooms themselves are standard, there is a TV and air conditioning, a shower, a bathroom, plumbing in good condition, hot and cold water - the whole day. The rooms are very clean, cleaned daily, for a symbolic tip they will collect the bed in an artistic style and scatter flowers. Plus, every day they bring two bottles of water per person to the room (included in the service). Meals are better to take "all inclusive", then it includes juices and alcohol in the bar (otherwise - for a fee, upon departure you will be presented with used checks). The food itself is very tasty, a buffet, a separate European menu, separately - spicy dishes. A wide choice of meat dishes (more rarely - seafood), soups, side dishes, salads, desserts, exotics. In principle, the menu itself is repeated every day, although from time to time there are themed evenings (Chinese cuisine, Italian cuisine, etc. ). If you have chosen three meals a day, you don’t have to buy anything extra, in the restaurant you can eat to satiety. The hotel has swimming pools (but they are chlorinated). From time to time, the elephant Monica comes, on which you can ride and take pictures. Almost every evening there is an entertainment program: magic tricks, acrobatics, snake charmers, a disco, etc. Excursions can be ordered from local beach-boys (it's cheaper) or from official travel companies (it's more comfortable). We chose the second option and went on a safari to Yalu (plus a spice garden and a turtle nursery) and Kandy city (another spice garden, an elephant nursery and a Buddhist temple, plus a short visit to the tea plantations). The guides are Russian-speaking, so there were no problems. In the hotel itself, the main language of communication is English, however, some employees will be able to communicate with you in Russian, although very limited. Separately, I would like to say about the locals: very friendly, helpful people. Naturally, as in any resort country, some may try to cash in on tourists, but if you show common sense and perseverance, you will not be deceived. The main result: I really liked the rest, the hotel and Sri Lanka itself. If you do not have super high expectations, you are not a snob and know how to behave, then you will most likely get the most positive emotions from your vacation here.
