We lived in a bungalow on the second floor, the first from the ocean (they asked for it upon check-in and got what they wanted without any tip). No living creatures were noticed in the room, but there was also no TV (it has been needed on vacation for a hundred years) and a refrigerator (and this is already a huge minus). The disadvantages include very poor lighting in the room, it is almost impossible to read in the evening. The lighting in the hotel is also very poor. Perhaps such lighting, by design, should tune in to a lyrical mood, but after some kind of snake was chased along the beach during the day (we were assured that it was a snake), it was somehow dumb to walk around the territory in the evening and not really see what you were stepping on.
But this is all nonsense. The main thing is the beautiful nature, the powerful warm ocean, and you should not pay attention to the little things. With Ratna we went to the mountains of Nuwara Eliya to waterfalls and tea plantations. A wonderful tour and Ratna is a good fellow, you can deal with him.
I want to warn you, do not leave money in the room. We have not in this hotel, but in Kandy at the Casamara hotel, 2000 rupees and 55 dollars were stolen from the wallet that we left in the room after going down to the restaurant for dinner. They took it so that it would not be noticeable (there was a substantial amount in the wallet), but since it was the first day in Sri Lanka and we had practically not bought anything yet, the theft was noticed. Unfortunately, this fact spoiled the impression of the Sri Lankans.
