Hello!

I want to share our impressions about the rest in Sri Lanka in Villa Ocean View.
In Sri Lanka for the first time, but in general we managed to see something.
We rested from July 24 to August 6. And now in order.

FLIGHT. We flew with a transfer in Sharjah with Air Arabia (Air Arabia). Everything was clear and without delay. Flight without food, you can bring food with you, no drinks, only bought at DutyFree or in the departure area, or on the plane (a can of cola, sprite costs $ 1.5), food - from 10 to 35 dirhams (from 3 to 10 dollars). )
Arrived at 4 am, the hotel was about 6. Settled immediately.

HOTEL. Yes, the hotel is not new, it needs renovation. But we liked it. We are not one of those tourists who look for all sorts of spots and cracks. Somewhere a speck of rust, somewhere a speck of mold, but nothing so terrible. Due to the very humid climate, there is simply no time to touch up everything physically. We lived in the main building on the second floor. There are also bungalows. All rooms in the building have ocean and pool views.
Cleaning, change of linen and towels daily before lunch. Every day they left 100 rupees. Towels were sometimes even changed twice a day. In the evening, a guy comes to unscrew the blanket, or rather the sheet, for sleeping, and if you have already washed and the towels are wet, he will change them again. This was a pleasant surprise. The room has a refrigerator, TV, air conditioning. Everything worked. There is a raptor, but they did not use it, there was no need, they did not see mosquitoes. There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby, some even caught it in a bar near the beach. Safe at reception.
TERRITORY. Everything is beautiful: palm trees, bushes, everything is well-groomed. Two pools, one jacuzzi. The beach is large, with palm trees growing on it, there are plenty of sunbeds. There are no umbrellas, if necessary in the shade - they dragged the sunbed under the palm tree. The beach fence has been removed. Merchants and beachboys are forbidden to go beyond the first row of palm trees from the ocean. There is a guard.
The ocean was rough, but it was a lot of fun to jump on the waves. The ocean is full of delight, such power.
NUTRITION. The food was on a European stomach and spicy.
We had all inclusive. There is enough food. Breakfasts are the same everywhere: scrambled eggs, pancakes, buns, muesli, tea, coffee, juices. Speaking of juices, they are very tasty: mango, papaya, watermelon, strawberry-guava, or just guava, passion fruit. For lunch, mashed soup, several types of rice, potatoes, chicken, fish, vegetables, and, of course, delicious desserts. For dinner there was a themed cuisine, sometimes European, sometimes Thai, sometimes Italian, etc. When there was a local cuisine, an ensemble comes and sings in the restaurant. We were completely delighted when they performed a Ukrainian folk song in the Sri Lankan manner.

There are three bars. One on the roof (not working), one near the beach and one near the hall, opened in the evening. You can drink in unlimited quantities, you just need to sign the check, the room number and how many drinks you took are recorded there. Who does not have All inclusive, he will naturally pay. The hotel staff are polite and nice people.
Three days later, they already remembered the room number and addiction to drinks.
TOURS. We took a two-day from a hotel guide in Kandy - Sigiriya. The tour cost $225 per person. , but we got 7 people and we bargained for 170 dollars. They have such a policy: the more people, the cheaper. The tour includes: elephant riding (for this they paid extra for those who wanted to ride, 2000 rupees for 20 minutes), an elephant nursery, a tea plantation (they bought tea there), the royal botanical garden, the Temple of the Tooth Relic, overnight in Kandy with dinner and breakfast. On the second day, the spice garden (there we had a demonstrative Ayurvedic massage, well, we bought oils and creams) and Sigiriya. We bought in these stores, although they were more expensive than in the stores in Wadduwa, because these stores are state-owned and have certificates, we decided that the products here are of better quality, although this did not stop us from buying additional sandalwood oil in Wadduwa.
Then we met with a local guide - Silva (surname) Shelton (name), and went only with him. There are a lot of positive reviews about him, we confirm. Very cool person. I just want to be careful. On the beach there is another Silva, not a very pleasant type, trying to throw, but in general there are a lot of beach fights on the beach that mow down like a real Silva. Our Silva is short and without a front tooth (look at the photo). Highly recommend. Silva Shelton is a very religious person, an honest and interesting storyteller. Shelton just loves his country, he sang songs about Sri Lanka to us (by the way, very good).
We went with him on a tuk-tuk to a waterfall (40 minutes from the hotel) and swam there. Then we bought an excursion to Halle from him (by car). Liked. The tour includes: a turtle farm, a Buddhist temple, a Dutch fort and a lighthouse and stopped by the beach near Galle for a swim. There the ocean was calm and swimming, as it turned out, was not interesting without waves.

The next day, they called Shelton and asked him to take him to a good seafood restaurant to taste. We went by tuk-tuk (15 minutes from the hotel) to Paradise (not to be confused with Paradise opposite the hotel). Ordered a seafood mix. One serving includes lobster, crab, shrimp, squid and tuna steak, all grilled in front of us. Well, to all this, rice and salad. Ordered two servings for three, barely ate. It cost 7700 rupees - about 60 dollars. for three persons. Tasty. We also went to Lelik (on the beach to the right, if you are facing the ocean) ate shark soup (one serving 350 rupees - about $ 3) and lobster (one serving 3000 rupees - about $ 24), also tasty, but in Paradise liked it more, but you have to go. Opposite the hotel there are cafes and souvenir shops. We liked the shop with white barred windows, an elderly Lankan woman and her husband trade there, they make a good discount.
Coconuts on the beach for 100 rupees, we agreed with the seller (a young, thin boy) that we would take 3 coconuts daily for 200 rupees. By the way, if you add white rum to coconut, you get a very good start to the day.

In general, we are VERY satisfied with the rest, and if we succeed, we will be happy to come to this hotel and this beautiful country. There will be questions, please contact.
