We went to celebrate the New Year 2008 in Vilnius and, having listened to the advice of the Dialog travel agency, we decided to stay at the Barbacan Palace 4 * hotel (Vilnius, Boksto, 19, ).

Comments about the hotel by points:

1. Location. Located at the intersection/corner of Bok; to and v. Kazimiero. At first it seemed to us that these were some kind of backyards of Vilnius . . It is located on the very “edge” of the Old Town, next to it there are shabby streets, littered yards and unrestored churches. But then, having “sniffed out” a short road to a more presentable part of the Old Town, everything turned out to be not so bad! Just 7 minutes - and you are on the Town Hall Square! , 5 minutes - and you are at the Ramada Hotel (where our travel agency sometimes organized meetings for groups). So if you do not pay much attention to the immediate surroundings of the hotel, the location is very good (and quiet, no nearby clubs and street noise). True, it should be noted that not all taxi drivers know this hotel . . It is necessary to keep the address of the hotel not far from you.

2. Staff. In general, very polite, efficient, although rather slow. When we needed an excursion, a taxi, when we found out all sorts of details on how to get there - here, everything was perfectly organized.

3. Breakfast. Buffet. The restaurant hall is very bright, huge windows, few simple tables, not too cozy and warm. The main downside of the hotel was the breakfast. In reality, there were only cereals, vegetables, a little bit of fruit and cheeses with scrambled eggs and porridge. It was assumed that there were still spring rolls, but in reality there were very few of them, they quickly ended and it was impossible to interrogate them again. Same day after day, no choice, slow service (one young man per room). In general, the breakfast did not cause a holiday feeling . .

4. General atmosphere. Rooms. The interior of the hotel is made in the Italian style, but rather modestly. Very quiet. The hotel is small, there are few people, the staff is almost invisible. The only thing is the increased audibility in the bathroom. So if you sing songs there, you will hear the neighbors too  The air in the rooms is fresh and warm. Other than a tiny bowling alley at the bottom of the hotel, no special services or entertainment. The reception downstairs has one computer with free internet access. The view from the window is mediocre. View of the courtyard (atrium), but it is so small that you really look at the opposite windows. But good curtains save the day 

5. Service. Without any comments. Cleaned up clean and tidy. The bathroom is very cozy and comfortable. Heating floor ; Everything you need, including a hair dryer, large mirrors, is there. The beds are comfortable. It's great that the rooms have a kitchenette with a sink, electric kettle, refrigerator.

In general, our impression of the hotel is 4-ku. This is certainly not 4 stars, as the hotel claims, but a confident three. Since there is nothing to compare especially in Vilnius with anything, I can’t recommend or not recommend. The main advantages of the hotel are its peace and quiet, close location to the center, the main disadvantages are too modest breakfasts and a shabby environment of the hotel location.
