I promised the porter girl to write a good truthful review immediately after leaving the hotel, but so many months have already passed, and I got ready just now.
My wife and I went to Riga from our native Estonia for three days. Prior to that, I booked a standard double room with strict parameters, having previously made a selection from hotels in the very center of Riga, in order to walk around the Old Town on foot and for business, and for pleasure, and CHEAP. The parameters I requested:
"Length of stay: 2 nights.
Number of guests: 2 adults
Room: standard double with ONE COMMON bed for two
Cost: 138 euros
SPECIAL REQUEST: give us the MOST QUIET room, so that no discos, nightclubs and traffic outside the windows and walls. We love to fall asleep in silence.
Be sure to have wireless Internet in the ROOM!
We are from Estonia. We are arriving by car, so parking will be required.

As we were told over the phone - there is underground parking with a fee of 6 euros per night and there are always free places on it. "
Conclusions and conclusions:
All parameters were met by 99.9%. At 0.1%, the guests from the top floor made a little noise (we lived, it seems, on the third, I don’t remember exactly) after relaxing in the bar after 23:00, but quickly calmed down. The rest - as expected, everything was done.
All the staff, both Latvians and Russian speakers, worked to the highest score, smiled, greeted, even bowed (a boy in a restaurant) and spoke excellent Russian (Latvians, of course). There was no nationalism in relation to tourists, because, apparently, no one wanted to spit in the hand of the breadwinner. It is a pity that many Latvians do not have such a favorable attitude towards the Russians in Latvia.
They provided complete information: how to get there, where to eat, they drew it directly on the map. We gave flowers to the receptionist, she was very touched, tourists rarely give such gifts, apparently, but we are Russians - we are with soul. On the second day they hung up a sign with a request to clean the room, and left 2 lats on the pillow. When we returned from a walk, the room was cleaned to a shine, linen was changed, vacuumed, all towels were replaced and other things that we didn’t even have in mind. By the way, when we went for a walk, we asked the receptionist if 2 lats was normal (we have euros in Estonia, so we don’t really understand lats), so her eyes were already rounded, “very good, ” she said.
The entire Albert Hotel is, as it were, covered with physical formulas, all the inscriptions are in the form of notes by the great physicist Einstein. Very stylish and not flashy. It stands within the boundaries of Old Riga, going for a walk is the sweetest thing.

The room is in excellent condition, as soon as renovated, a great bed for sleeping and for having sex. There were four pillows. Warm floor. Clean shower and toilet - combined. Very warm and quiet. The windows all overlook the neighboring buildings, but this hotel is not for the view. The wireless internet worked flawlessly. The laptop was left in the room. The receptionist said that, of course, it is better to check in the safe, but "we did not have cases of theft. "
Breakfast - the richest buffet, whatever your heart desires and eat until you get tired. There are few people at breakfast, but everyone comes somehow successfully in turn. Delicious coffee, excellent pastries (this is my favourite), wonderful sausages and ham, real butter, fresh bread of different varieties, yoghurts with cereals - everything. And take as much as you want. There are THREE waiters in the hall, everything is cleaned instantly, impeccable cleanliness. I have not seen the BEST buffet in Central, Northern and Eastern Europe, but I have been in a variety of hotels.
On the top floor there is a cheerful bar with cocktails and a view of the rooftops of Old Riga. But somehow we got there late, it was already dark. We drank ice cream cocktails and ate ice cream (we do not drink alcohol). The waitress girl is very smart and polite, Russian, they left her for tea.
There is a large underground parking lot, at the exit from the parking lot directly to the hotel there are separate places for hotel guests, marked with signs.
Guests are mainly from Western Europe, those who live. A lot of locals come to the rooftop bar, as well as from Estonia and Lithuania. We saw a family of Russian-speaking people at breakfast in the morning, most likely Russians, because they ate a lot : ) The audience is very quiet and calm, there are few young people, mostly middle-aged people, some of them look like scientists or wealthy entrepreneurs.
The city itself is Russian, not in the sense that everyone speaks Russian (although everyone spoke Russian), but in terms of architecture and spirit. Whatever the Latvian neo-Nazis say. : ))))))
In general, rest with a bang. Recommended for those wishing to visit Riga.
