For the first time I decided to have a rest in the far abroad. Before that, I had a rest in the Baltic states, in Ukraine and Russia. Chose Montenegro. I read a lot about this country, my friends rested and advised me to go. I opted for Budva, at the budget hotel Slavyansky beach 3 *. Reviews about this hotel were very contradictory, but I decided and was satisfied with the rest. I rested alone, from June 20 to June 27.2010. The weather was great.
The hotel is located on the first line: you just need to cross the footpath and you are on the beach. Along the entire coast there is an embankment that starts from the old city. The hotel complex is a small town, consisting of 2 and 3-storey white houses of the Mediterranean type: with terraces and balconies entwined with flowering plants, with windows with wooden shutters. The hotel area is very large, a lot of greenery, two swimming pools, courts, children's and sports grounds, restaurants and shops. The guests of the hotel are international: Russian-speaking citizens, Poles, Czechs, Romanians, Germans, British, Italians, etc. The German "old women" in the bar were very amused, demanding more beer and "drink". I was lucky - I didn’t see any drunken and screaming guests under the windows...
The reception building is located at the entrance to the hotel complex. At the reception, they speak Russian quite tolerably and understand Russian. When checking in, they don’t extort money. The reception area is very spacious with a seating area, a luggage room, stands for tour companies and a bar. On the ground floor there are toilet rooms. Near the reception there are shops, cafes, travel agencies.

Food (buffet) takes place in two restaurants, there is also a cafe and a bar. In the center of the complex there is another restaurant with an open area where theme nights are held. All-inclusive meals are quite tasty and varied: vegetables, fruits, jams. sauces, 3-5 types of cheese and cold cuts, olives, salads, 3-4 types of second courses, various side dishes, soups, etc. Drinks: tea, coffee, juices, wine - red and white. It's hard to stay hungry. During breaks, you can have a snack at the bar.
Rooms are standard: bright, spacious with balconies. The furniture is not new, but not yet falling apart. If you are going to relax, see new things, swim and sunbathe, then the number is not the most important thing. The room has a TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, etc. My maid was Dragica, a very pretty smiling young woman. We had a pretty good conversation with her. My room was always clean, towels and linen were changed, everything needed in the bathroom was replenished on time. I left tips from time to time.
The city is relatively small, the local population lives at the foot of the mountain range. Hotels, places of entertainment, restaurants and cafes are located along the sea. The embankment is very wide, well lit, in the evenings it turns into a promenade and shopping malls. In the evenings we enjoyed walking along the sea. The port is located near the old fortress, which houses shops, restaurants, concerts. There are luxury yachts in the port. Not far from the old fortress and the hotel, in the city, there is a market where you can buy fruits, vegetables, meat delicacies. There is a bus station in the city, from which you can get to any city. There is a bus stop not far from the hotel. There is no shopping as such. Souvenirs do not count.
Excursions. We visited a lot of towns ourselves, on regular buses: Kotor, with its old fortress on the top of the mountain and the bay at the foot; Ulcinj - with its mosques and slave market, Herceg Novi, Bar, etc.
With a hotel guide, we went by bus and ferry to Croatia, to Dubrovnik. Back, part of the way, we went by sea on a boat. Awesome! Dubrovnik is a wonderful city beyond words. Port, boats, old fortress, white houses under red tiled roofs on the slopes of the mountain range and the azure-turquoise sea.

Sea and beach. The beach at our hotel is pebbly and sandy. The water is clean and transparent. Comfortable entry, you can without slippers. There are paid sunbeds on the beach, but you can sunbathe on your own towels or mattresses. Various goodies are carried along the beach. Further along the seashore, the beaches are sandy.
While traveling around Montenegro, I never had a feeling of discomfort: the language is very understandable, people are responsive and friendly. Wonderful country and wonderful people. I would like to return there.
