We managed to combine holidays in the Maldives and Sri Lanka on vacation. We stayed in the Maldives for 3 nights, and we devoted 8 days to Sri Lanka.
We flew to the Maldives from Kyiv to Sharjah, from Sharjah to Colombo with Air Arabia, from Colombo to Male with Sri Lankan Airlines, from Male to the island by seaplane. Four planes, jumping over time zones is pretty hard. Therefore, no wonder, we missed the plane from Colombo to Male and we had to re-register for the next flight. For $42 per person, we flew safely to the Maldives in the afternoon. In a word, we flew to the island in the evening, for dinner. There is one moment, because we were late and they were waiting for us in the morning, and we arrived in the afternoon, they were already waiting for us at the airport, met us, and took us to board the seaplane without any problems. The island itself is not big, it belongs to the Sri Lankans, the food at the hotel is good (it’s hard to call it very good. In the dining room, each room has its own table, it’s very convenient. The beach is spacious, there are enough places. The rooms are modest, but clean. There is a pool, on reception souvenir shops, bars on the shore of the restaurant. They also offer excursions to the nearest island Meedhoo - I recommend, not very expensive, but interesting. In the evening on the pier you can see fish feeding, stingrays, tuna, even turtles swim - a beautiful sight. The ocean is magnificent! And also, the hotel management provides vacationers with special dinners (sea food dinner), though not for everyone. But we were lucky, so we were compensated for the early departure time from the island to the airport. But they didn’t leave us at the airport either. Because before flying to Sri Lanka, we it was 6 o'clock, we were provided with a guide who gave us a tour of Male for free (not counting $ 1 for the boat to Male and back to the airport). In a word - the Maldives is a magical place kean, it's fish and birds, it's white sand, it's great service. Believe me, even three days is enough to enjoy the island from the heart.
