Were at the Cancun Caribe Park Royal Grand (all incl) after a sightseeing trip to Mexico, with my wife, 4 days. The hotel does not pull on 5 stars, but good 4 - quite. All rooms with ocean view, the view from the room is breathtaking, incredibly beautiful. The view from the corridors - to the lagoon - is also very pleasant. The rooms are quite spacious, but without frills, simple and affordable. The bathroom is very small and combined with a bathroom - barely turn around, but everything you need (shampoo, towels, soap) was present in sufficient quantity. Unfortunately, we (and those of the Russians who were in the hotel) faced the fact that the water in the bathroom does not pass well and when washing, you stand ankle-deep in water. They called a locksmith, but he could not do anything - apparently, such a pipe arrangement. I do not advise you to take rooms on floors 1-3: palm trees block the ocean. We lived on the 6th in the last room. Those who lived in the center complained about a rather noisy disco from the lagoon. . . The minibar in the rooms is filled daily - everything is free in it, but the choice is limited (2 cans of Coca-Cola, Fanta, Corona beer and drinking water each). They cleaned cleanly, although they tried to clean up only at 2 noon, which did not suit us - they settled this issue at the reception. We left the cleaning lady $2 a day for tea. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. No one speaks Russian, but English is at a very good level, because there are many Americans and Canadians in the hotel. The audience at the hotel is different - mostly young people, 18-40 years old, there were only 4 Russian couples, the rest - Americans, Canadians, tourists from South America and Japanese. There were almost no excesses with drunken residents of the United States - only once they observed how one fat man got drunk in a pool bar, then jumped out of the pool on his stomach with barking and rumbling, depicting either a dog or a fur seal, which was very amused. Cocktails there bartenders are quite good: tequila, vodka and rum do not spare, you can ask not to put ice. My wife and I gave the bartenders small tips (a dollar a night), but most people didn't. Animation is weak - at the level of "singing American songs under karaoke" in the evenings, but we are not interested in animation anywhere at all. The food at the hotel is decent - it does not strike with a crazy variety, but the choice is rather big, and everything is delicious. In addition to the general restaurant, you can eat at a la carte restaurants, but dinners must be booked in them by phone from 12 to 3 pm, there are no problems with places. Dress code (men - trousers, closed shoes and a shirt with a collar, women - evening dress or trousers with a blouse) are required only in such a la carte restaurants (dined in El Mirador (Italian) - liked it, in El Oriental (Eastern) - everything was tasteless, although the atmosphere is pleasant everywhere, and they do not spare alcohol. it is well cared for and constantly cleaned. The beach is very pleasant, with white fine sand, there are shells. pelicans, seagulls, iguanas are flying. Compared to other hotels on the Cancun Caribe beach, there were very few people, which could not but rejoice. . . Ocean there is an unusual light malachite color, I have never seen such a color of the sea anywhere. . . If someone is interested in shopping: prices in Cancun are much higher than in other cities in Mexico, but much lower than in Moscow. On the side of the hotel there is a bus stop, almost anywhere you can get to Walmart (Cancun center, 20 minutes), on the opposite side of the hotel there is a bus stop in the other direction - to La Isla and Kukulkan Plaza shopping centers - 2-3 stops, 5 minutes ). The price is the same everywhere - 8.5 pesos, although the carriers do not give change). . . We were hosted by the local travel company Prime Travel, and if the first part (a sightseeing trip throughout Mexico) went perfectly, then in Cancun the work of the travel agency was somewhat disappointing. We ordered swimming with dolphins ($ 150 / person), they promised a Russian-speaking guide - he was not there, I had to translate. After that, they promised compensation for the lack of a Russian-speaking guide - again they deceived. We went to Shkaret Park - the park is pleasant, you can take a walk, but $ 125 / person is not worth it. Enjoyed the underground river swimming show illustrating the history of Mexico was nothing too. For excursions in Mexico - special thanks to Artem, part-time philologist-teacher at the University of Mexico City (Mexico City) and Juan Emilio (Puebla-Oaxaca-San Cristobal - Palenque-Sumidor-Uxmal-Campeche-Merida-Chichen Itza). The last, young boy, who graduated from the Faculty of Psychology of St. Petersburg University, spoke Russian almost perfectly, was distinguished by outstanding humor, resourcefulness, constant good mood, he amused everyone all the way, while telling everything superficially, with knowledge of the matter, and even in the faces he artistically depicted all the acting characters of Mexican history, in general, it was a whole show, they had fun all the way. Thanks to him! In general, the rest was satisfied.
