Hello! More recently, I felt the hot sun, warm sea, fresh salty air, and here I am in cold gray Moscow...
So about the rest: We went together with my husband on a long-awaited honeymoon trip : -)
Tour operator: ICS travel: no complaints.
Aeroflot flew 13 hours there and 11 back, no complaints about the service, they were fed 2 times, drinks were constantly present. I was pleased with the choice of films in the back of the seat in front of the person sitting: a lot of new products and a golden fund of cinema, in general, you won’t need an iPad on the plane : -)
Customs went through quickly despite the fact that I had to go to the inspection of luggage, the inspection was superficial and took no more than a couple of minutes. When you press the button, a sign lights up: free or for inspection, well, I'm so lucky))) I'm already used to it.
The meeting side of Prime Travel, no complaints, clear well-coordinated work: transfer, excursions, competent guides.

The trip to the hotel took a little over an hour with the guide talking about Mexico, an air-conditioned minibus, not at all tiring.
The hotel struck and fell in love at first sight: a large beautiful area, a lot of greenery, pools, fountains. I saw a lot of iguanas on the lawn. We arrived at the second hour of the day, the keys to the room were given within 10 minutes. We lived in the Veracruz building. It's somewhere in the middle between the lobby and the beach. View from the room to a wonderful garden, second floor, balcony. The room is ordinary, everything worked, the only thing is that the TV is old Zenit, but we don’t watch it at home, so we didn’t even turn it on). The cleaning was carried out regularly, the minibar (bottles of water, cola, fanta, sprite, beer) was also replenished every day, regardless of the incentive. The linen is snow-white, the towels too, I didn’t look under the bed, I didn’t check the dust))). There is an ice maker and a coffee maker.
The territory is shared by 5 hotels. In addition to Tropical and Colonial, there are 2 more fours and Palace Delux.
By the way, we sell Tropical and Colonial as one hotel, in fact they are different hotels, each has a lobby, etc. But there is no fundamental difference.
We walked around the whole territory, IMHO the territory of Tropical and Colonial is the most beautiful : -) Delux certainly looks more luxurious, but all its advantages are crossed out by a bad beach. For me, this is a significant disadvantage. Well, in general, who is going for what.
Beach: great! White sand, beautiful sea, small stones at the beginning of sunset, but not for long, special shoes are not needed. The only thing was that there were waves, sometimes quite strong, but it's so cool to jump on them)))
There are swimming pools near the beach, bars and snack bars on both sides, there is a slide for children. In principle, there were enough sunbeds, however, since April 1, when many American schoolchildren arrived with their parents for the holidays, the number of unoccupied sunbeds has decreased.

Now I realized that taking sunbeds by the sea in the morning is not a habit of Russian tourists at all))) everything was used: towels, glasses, slippers, books, etc. We ourselves did not suffer from such garbage). As the guide told us, in American schools, spring breaks do not occur at the same time, because somewhere from February 15 to mid-May there are a lot of them on the coast, it’s easiest for them to fly about 3 hours.
Americans mostly hung out near the pool, animation was held there: aerobics and dancing. And of course at the bar : -) the law not to sell alcohol to minors in Mexico does not work))). Regarding the bar: friendly bartenders, there are no restrictions "in one hand", how much you can take away)
As for the contingent, about 90% of Americans are mostly states: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan. The rest: Mexicans from other states of Mexico. Europeans were not found, they met with compatriots only on excursions. Instead of Tageeeeel! (C) by the pool sounded: USA! , USA! , USA! )))
Food.
It is tiring to list all the dishes, so I will say there was a lot of food, varied, tasty. Fruits: 2 types of melon, watermelon, pineapple, apples, peaches, papaya, mango, guavo. Almost everything is imported because on the peninsula, in view of the rocky soil, little grows. Two restaurants connected to each other. A table was always found by the window overlooking the pool and fountain, there were no queues even at the peak of arrival, we went at different times and always found free tables. The waiters deliver drinks, very friendly and prudent, mostly communication in English, but many know a few Russian words : -) A la carte restaurants were offered: Italian, Mexican, Japanese, but we never went, too lazy to sign up, and there was enough in the general restaurant : -)
Cigarettes. The choice of the hotel is very meager: American marlboro, camel, lucky strike with scary pictures. They cost $7. But a great selection of Cuban cigars.
Smoking areas are limited, which is good news. But you can smoke on the balcony.
Entertainment: the theater held performances every evening, and then a disco. Or you could pass the evening in the lobby bar. For the fans: there were broadcasts of the Champions League, during the day, but mostly basketball and baseball for the Americans.

Tours. We went to Chichen Itza, Coba Tanka Tulum, on our own to Playa Del Carmen and Cancun. Excursions were organized by Prime Travel: interesting, organized, free water on the bus, receivers with headphones, the guide could be heard even being at some distance from him. Attention: the lunch box at the hotel is paid $ 7 alone, but in principle it will not be needed: if you have breakfast before the tour, then on the excursions we were organized a buffet.
Chichen Itza. It takes about 2.5 hours to visit a stone workshop, very beautiful products, especially masks, well worth it accordingly.
In Chichen Itza, the temple of Kukulkan, the stadium, the Temple of the Jaguar, the observatory. There is something to see and photograph. After Chichen Itza, swimming in the Sacred Senod: the underground well is very beautiful and pleasantly refreshing, then a buffet and the way back. There is enough free time for photography and shopping.
Koba-Tanka-Tulum. Drive about 40 minutes to Coba. You don't have to go on the excursion itself, velo rickshaws will be happy to take you to important archaeological ruins : -) but they still deserve a tip for their work, IMHO. In Koba, unlike Chichen Itza, you can climb a pyramid about 42 meters high.
Then there was a trip to the Tanka Eco Park: meeting the locals, whose ancestors were the Mayans, swimming in the senod, not as deep as in Chichen Itza, but refreshing after climbing the pyramid. After that, lunch prepared by the Mayans and departure to Tulum. This is the port of the city of Coba.
A good place for walks and photos, and the bay is simply unrealistic beauty. Everything is expensive in the supermarket in Tulum.
Playa Del Carmen. 20 minutes by minibus (3 dollars) from the hotel. We walked along the famous street for tourists - Fifth Avenue, went to Wallmart, tequila there is almost 2 times cheaper compared to a hotel store or a market in Tulum, for example. The famous Don Julio Anejo $40, in Tulum $84. Reposado is even cheaper of course.
Tequila. There are several types: blanco-white aging up to 2 months, inexpensive, suitable only for cocktails. Reposado - exposure up to a year reasonable price light straw color. Añ ejo - exposure up to 3 years, color like whiskey. Extra añ ejo - aging from 3 to 7 years. The so-called "black tequila" for connoisseurs about $ 250, they did not consider themselves to be such, they limited themselves to añ ejo.

Varieties worth buying: Don Julio's hyped brand, Herradura, 1800.
As the Mexican guide told us about Don Julio: this is the same as Smirnoff vodka in Russia.
Don Julio has been produced for 30 years, and the famous "horseshoe" Herradura has been produced for 150 years.
Souvenirs. Magnets are about $ 3-4, you can also buy instant chocolate in tablets, and drink a chocolate drink. Ordinary chocolates are not tasty, they practically do not use cocoa butter in their production, they are dry.
Cancun. We went with an individual excursion to Cancun (cheaper than by taxi, by the way), because we didn’t want to take the minibuses with a transfer to Playa Del Carmen in the heat.
Internet: $ 14 per day and only one session, that is, you can’t sit with two gadgets : -( the speed is normal, we watched the broadcast of the national team match.
The most beautiful coast Yukotan. We visited the tequila museum shop and were surprised by the prices: we bought Herradura añ ejo as a gift for about $40. We walked around the city, I did some shopping in La Isla. European brands are as expensive as in Moscow, but the prices for American brands were a pleasant surprise : -)
The transfer from the hotel was almost individual : -) apart from us, there was only one couple in the minibus, I don’t even know what it is connected with.
Summary: the rest was a success, in this my husband and I are unanimous! The review is of course written on emotions, but the most important thing is that these emotions are positive.
Have a nice holiday everyone! And thanks for reading to the end. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer.
