Because while on vacation in Langkawi, in order to save money, it was decided to alternate expensive hotels with budget ones (budget ones for traveling around the island, and expensive ones for relaxation), then I was looking for a suitable inexpensive beach hotel for a long time. As a result, I chose "Malibestresort", which is part of the chain of the local operator "Baron", which holds several budget hotels in Langkawi. The hotel itself was chosen for its unique treetop rooms. I really wanted to live in these. The hotel itself is located on Cenang on the same beach as the well-known and "Casa del Mer" (in which rooms are from $ 250 and above and the rooms are sorted out 2 months in advance), and "Meritus Pelangi Beach". So the location is good.
Because There was no automatic booking system on their website, so I had to write them off on my own. The hotel requested a booking guarantee: credit card details or SWIFT payment in the amount of one day of stay. I sent them a payment, it went for almost 2 weeks, for a long time they could not confirm the receipt of money, but in the end they confirmed it. We settled in without problems. At the reception asked, as in all Malaysian hotels, a deposit. For 2 days of stay - 100 rengit. The amount is small, so I gave it without any problems, and I also received it back normally without any problems.
Now about the hotel itself. Immediately get ready for the fact that the hotel is really budget in all aspects. The reception is small, the staff does not carry things for anyone, there is no restaurant, so breakfast is not included in the price. There is an Indian restaurant under the same roof as the hotel, but since we didn’t even see Indians in it, we didn’t want to use its services. Across the road is full of various restaurants and eateries. It should be noted that the staff solves all issues quickly and does not even ask for a tip. The room is very basic, but everything you need is there: air conditioning, fan, TV; washbasin, shower and toilet are combined in a very small area; hot water in the shower through an electric flow heater. The room is cleaned and the supply of shampoos and soaps is replenished. If you need an extra set of towels - you pay 5 rengit, if you want a chair on the beach - 10 rengit. The hotel has its own travel agency that sells various excursions. The prices are reasonable and the service too. The beach is good, for lovers of bananas, parasailing and scooters, there are also activities. The only minus of the room is that there are no European sockets in it, I had to go to a local shop and buy an adapter. There is a currency exchange near the hotel.

In general, a very good hotel for an independent beach holiday. I really liked the tree room. It is very relaxing to meet the sunset on the balcony, as well as the contemplation of day and evening beach life from a height. It even reminded me a little of my childhood when you organize your "staffs" in the trees. The only thing to consider is that rooms on trees are booked before anyone else, the alternative is either cheap one-story rooms closer to the fence and the road, respectively, or multi-bed dorm rooms or expensive rooms with direct access to the beach with their own bench (but pay the amount declared by the hotel for such I don’t see the point in the type of rooms, it’s better if you have money to take a more comfortable hotel). But, as they say, to each his own.
