We rested at the Shangri-La's Boracay Resort & Spa 5 * hotel in July 2016, for the entire stay in the hotel we were the only Russians, however, the hotel staff tried to speak with us in Russian: "Thank you", "Please", "Hello" , that's the whole vocabulary, but also very nice. From this we understood that Russians still stay at this hotel, but probably there are more of them in the dry season, and not in the rainy season.

By the way, there was practically no rain for 9 days, there were only a few rains, one at night, and the second during the day, it lasted no more than 20 minutes.
80% of vacationers are Japanese and Chinese, a few Americans, and representatives of other countries of Southeast Asia.
The hotel operates on the Bed and Breakfast system, breakfast - buffet, included in the room rate, lunch and dinner in Ala carte restaurants on site or in a cafe outside. To the village with cafes and shops every hour from 9:00 to 18:30 and from 18:30 to 01:00 every half an hour, there is a free bus that does not need to be signed up, everything is in a first come first served basis, which is very convenient. The duration of the trip is 20 minutes.
The tourist area is not a big couple of narrow streets and the White beach promenade, lunches in the village are 7-10 times cheaper than Ala carte restaurants in the hotel.
The breakfast is chic, the food is so varied, from yogurts and sausages to Chinese soup and sushi, I was especially struck by the wall with donuts strung on cloves and of course fruits, the mango just melted in my mouth.
The hotel has two beaches, one is not at all big, but it is located next to the pools and the second is bigger, the first is a little more comfortable, and there are more people on it.
The service on the beach is beyond praise, the staff brings towels, covers the sunbeds, treats you with water with ice and lemon for free, and fruit canapes are handed out at about 12 noon. You can also use masks and snorkels, take life jackets, especially since there are a lot of beautiful fish in the sea, and you don’t have to swim far to enjoy all this beauty. Of course, Boracay is not the Maldives, but still the fish are beautiful and big.
The pools in Shangril are filled with sea water, it is very warm like the sea, at least 28 degrees Celsius, and sometimes the water heated up to 30. The depth of the largest pool is 1.40 m, the other 1.80 m, and there is also a very small children's pool with no more than 0.40 m deep. The sea is simply magically beautiful.
The hotel area is very green and well-groomed, even the decorative pebbles in the corridors are washed by hand. The staff is very friendly, liked the note from the maid on the day of arrival with the message: "Please call such and such a number and tell me what time you would like your room to be cleaned", this is insanely convenient, we asked for the room to be cleaned at 10 am, and indeed, the room was being cleaned at that particular time.
The rooms are spacious, with a comfortable bed, TV (no Russian channels), refrigerator, iron, shampoo, soap, shower gel, air conditioner, body milk, toothbrush, thread, a large number of towels in the bathroom. In general, everything you need is there.
Tourism on the island of Boracay is just developing, not very many hotels have been built, many are under construction, housing on White beach leaves much to be desired due to not very competent construction, noise from crowds of tourists, so I advise you not to save on housing, choose hotels with its own beaches and closed territory.
There are few excursions in Boracay and its environs, our tour operator Peter tour did not make itself felt at all. In the tourist area you can buy English-language tours. Once, in the area of the Budget Market supermarket, a Russian-speaking man approached us and offered 3 excursions: around the island of Boracay (5 hours), to the neighboring island of Panay for the whole day with swimming in waterfalls, and to another island that you need to get to for 2 hours on a motorboat, they seemed unattractive to us, so we enjoyed the fabulous sea the whole trip. Maybe it will seem boring to someone, but we love the sea, especially since we planned a transit through Singapore on the way back, where we satisfied our needs for excursions, but now is not about that.
Perhaps Boracay Island is a resort for experienced travelers who have been to many countries and now want to enjoy the beauty of such a distant and unexplored country, with a little Asian confusion, but great hospitality and respect for other peoples and their cultures.

The only thing left on the level is the rooms and villas. . . Clean, beautiful and comfortable. . . The service is top three, you will be very lucky if the waiter, maid or employee at the reception will immediately pay attention to you, and not 30 minutes after how did you call them.

The hotel is just amazing!!!! ! When we flew from Irkutsk to Bangkok and from Bangkok to Manila, there were clouds in the sky all the way, covering the whole sky. Having read before the trip that it was still the rainy season, I was not very surprised, although I was a little upset, I would like to bask in the sun, but before reaching the Caticlan, it was as if someone had put up a barrier in the sky and there was almost a clear sky, the hotel representative met us already at the airport, and we went to the hotel without delay.

The hotel was initially struck by the fact that you need to leave $ 1.000 on a deposit, but then they realized how convenient it is - you don’t need to carry cash with you, and the tip disappears in connection with this, you just put your room number and that’s it.
Sea. It must be said separately, outrageously clean, transparent, warm, beautiful, etc. , five meters from the shore you can already see fish, all sorts, I personally saw a small barracuda and clown fish and many many others, but I don’t know their names, the beauty is indescribable, they took a kayak several times and sailed away to the right of the hotel, there’s a wonderful secluded lagoon about 15 minutes away and we rested there like savages, since we lingered for a long time and in the evening a wave came, so a boy sailed to us with of our hotel and asked if everything was in order, brought us cold water and dry towels, and we were about to sail away, so he accompanied us all the way so that nothing happened to us, again nice. The wife, walking somehow close by the rocks, cut her leg, so there all the staff who were on the beach washed her leg, and they took her to the infirmary by car, then every day they were interested in how her leg was.
The staff is friendly to such an extent that even sometimes it becomes uncomfortable.
There are French cream, soap and shower gel in the room, fruit every evening, wishes for sleep, I timed the rest for my birthday, but at the hotel I didn’t tell anyone about it, when I came to the room in the evening I found a cake from the chef and a written congratulation , it was very nice.
Well, in the end, I would like to say that if you have the opportunity to fly to Boracay, then settle only in Shangri-la - you will not regret it !! !

The hotel staff just walk on the line, all very nice and pleasant people. In the morning, even the dew is removed from the paths so that tourists do not get their feet wet. Every hour comfortable cars run from the hotel to the center of the island. The breakfasts are excellent, a lot of seafood, pastries for every taste, juices, meat, 12 types of soups and much more. We went to White Beach almost every evening for a walk, there are a huge number of restaurants, bars, discos, a fire show on the beach, a lot of people are all positive. There are many Europeans and Asians, but there are almost no Russians at all. There are many hotels on the beach, but it’s better not to settle there too noisily and constant low tide, and the beach is common and you have to go past bars and shops to get there. We were so happy when we arrived at our hotel in this complete cevil. Somehow we came to a restaurant and let's order whiskey, lobsters, squids, etc. We sit, enjoy, chat, and then we understand that the money was forgotten at the hotel. Horror! They called the senior manager and began to explain that we would bring the money now, and he asked which hotel they were staying in and, having heard about the shangrila, he immediately said that everything was in order, that they could bring it tomorrow. The next morning they brought the money and paid the bill. The Filipinos really liked it, ordinary people. Loved the dried mango and local rum. The prices are simply ridiculous, even in our hotel there were special offers and you could eat not expensive. My opinion is to visit this beautiful country. Friends, relax in the Philippines!! !
