"Unforgettable" stay at Willa Korolowka
Never again will I use the services of the travel agency "Delta Travel". Managers are best at lying and speaking their teeth. How this company can position itself as a LEADING tour operator is not clear.
We rested with a group in Zakopane in late December 2006 - early January 2007. Delta Travel managers described the Willa Korolowka hotel to us as fabulous, in a picturesque park in the mountains, with modern furniture, a fireplace room, a sauna, billiards, drinks (tea, coffee, juices) - unlimited throughout the day, rooms with shower, TV, etc.
Ha-ha, we should have seen the faces of tourists at the settlement - not a single joyful face. At first we thought it was a mistake, but when it turned out that we would live there for a week, panic began, everyone ran around the hotel and looked for other rooms to exchange, better ones. Turns out they don't have any other numbers. Most "lucky" to our friends who paid the most - like for a "suite" : -), which they found there! The difference was not returned to them.
So, the Willa Korolowka hotel, which is really nice on the outside, turned out to be the most terrible inside, all the interior and furniture are from the times of early socialism. The rooms are tiny, in the shower, in order to wash yourself, you had to stand in the pose of ZYu, and the water leaked onto the floor, to get out of it only in fins; there was a draft from the windows, on TV - 3 Polish channels (why there is a TV at all - it is not clear). No one ever cleaned the room (not even taking out the trash). In the dining room, breakfast began at 8, at 9:45 they were no longer allowed there. Breakfast is a buffet, but they are such money savers - they will bring out a couple of pieces of sausage and cheese and wait until a huge queue gathers. When you start begging for food, they do you a favor and take out a couple of pieces again. Like in a concentration camp. No variety: cheese and sausage (only 1 kind), bread, butter, vegetables (if enough). A couple of times the cottage cheese was taken out. Promised drinks during the day were not observed. A couple of days at the beginning they put jars of soluble Nescafe and a kettle on the floors - then they removed that too. For dinner, they cooked something inedible, and it is very difficult to find a free place in restaurants in the city. It’s good that we arrived there by car - we went to dinner almost in Krakow!
By the way, the hotel was on the outskirts, and those who came by bus had difficulty traveling to the ski lifts and generally to the city center. Do not believe that minibuses run often! No more than 1 time per hour!
The promised entertainment program was not there. There was no program for the New Year (for which we paid 75 euros per person). They took us all to a cafe outside the city, put us at the tables and have fun as you like. There was not much food there either, only plenty of vodka and champagne.
In general, the organizers spoiled the impression of this lovely resort. Nature is great, of course. Many lifts and trails of different difficulty levels, Aquapark. You should definitely take the funicular to Gubalovka - wonderful views of the Tatras open up.
I advise you to choose a hotel based on the recommendations of friends and reviews on websites (in principle, all hotels are cozy near the ski lifts, and if it is far away, check if a minibus is provided to deliver residents to the ski lifts).
