Jermuk waterfall

Jermuk waterfall
Armenia, Jermuk
The Jermuk waterfall is located in the Vayots Dzor region, not far from the resort town of Jermuk, at an altitude of about 2000 m above sea level. The waterfall, reaching a height of 68 m, is considered the second highest in the country, after the Kasakh waterfall.
The waterfall is surrounded by a picturesque landscape with alpine forests covered with emerald greenery and flowers. High-quality mineral water from sources located on the territory of the Armenian Highlands contains a variety of chemical elements that have a beneficial effect on the human body. According to ancient legends, these waters have healing properties, as evidenced by the finds of abandoned bath tanks.
Currently, Jermuk mineral water is produced from the springs of the Jermuk waterfall.

The city of Jermuk itself and all its glory is closely connected with the famous mineral springs, which are located on the slopes of the Vardenis Range. This area has been a water-mineral and air resort for many centuries. The mineral springs of Jermuk gained fame in ancient times. This is evidenced by the traces of ancient baths and pools preserved near some sources. Scientists, having analyzed the properties of the Jermuk springs, gave them a well-deserved high assessment and made sure that the chemical composition of the local water is very similar to the famous waters of Karlovy Vary.
