Café Tortoni is located on Avenida de Mayo near May Square. The most famous literary cafe in the city was opened in 1858. The facade of the building, built in Art Nouveau style, has a beautiful design. The cafe has been a popular place among the creative intelligentsia since its opening. It was visited by such celebrities as Rubinstein, Ortega y Gasset, Borges and even Albert Einstein.
