At the foot of one of Vienna's old bastions is the Palais Erzherzog Albrecht or Albertina, which houses a unique collection of graphics, as well as watercolors, engravings, drawings and photographs from the Middle Ages to the present. Here you will find a fairly complete collection of prints and drawings by Albrecht Dü rer. In 1795, Archduke Albrecht bought the current palace, which was moved to the Art Collection. According to the new purpose, the palace building was rebuilt. And in 1822 the collection became available to citizens.
