A monument to Johannes Brahms, an outstanding German composer, is erected on Karlsplatz, on the outskirts of the park. Its author is the sculptor Rudolf von Weir. The monument was erected in 1908 and is a marble figure of Brahms sitting in a thoughtful pose, and at his feet is a muse.

Johannes Brahms, German pianist and composer, a representative of the Romantic era. The author of the monument to Brahms is the Austrian sculptor Rudolf von Weir. He was a well-known specialist in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a member of the Vienna Academic Society of Sculptors. He owns the sculptural design of the new Ringstrasse.
