The Zurich Opera House is a cultural institution that has been delighting the public since 1925. The theater's repertoire includes classical opera and ballet performances, many of which are staged rather unusually and extravagantly. The facade of the Opera House building is decorated with busts of prominent writers and composers (Mozart, Wagner, Schiller, Shakespeare, Goethe and Weber), its interior decoration is striking in luxury, and the auditorium is designed for 1200 seats. On Saturdays, guided tours are held here, during which you can learn about the history and traditions of the Zurich Opera House, as well as see a workshop for making theatrical props and tailoring costumes.
