Saint Ignatius Loyola Cathedral is located in Xuhui District. It was built in neo-Gothic style by French Jesuit monks at the beginning of the 20th century. The cathedral is the largest Christian church in the city. It is distinguished by two majestic 50-meter towers, many carved stone columns, 19 altars and magnificent stained-glass windows.
