I must say right away that this is more likely not a water park in our understanding of the word - with numerous slides and entertainment, but a recreation park. A kind of symbiosis of a beach, a pond, bars and cafes, a living corner with birds and fish, and spa treatments. We were there after the New Year holidays - there were a lot of people, but for a huge park measuring 360 by 210 meters there was no crowd. "Tropical Island" is arranged in a hangar, which previously served as a parking lot for airships. In winter, it seemed to us a little cool, leaving the water, wrapped in a towel. Many prudently took warm bathrobes with them. The water in the pools is also cool, at the limit. It is worth noting that right on the territory of the water park there are tents and bungalows for living if you want to spend a weekend here. In the park there are real tropical thickets with orchids and palm trees, as well as flamingos, fish and turtles. At the same time, the entire territory of the water park is divided into thematic zones.
In the "Tropical Village" there are corners of the Congo, Thailand, Malaysia, Bali and the Amazon. Surprisingly, you can shoot in the water park, except for the SPA area. In this wonderful area, everyone bathes and bathes naked in the sauna, both adults and children. If you are not comfortable in the SPA with naked Germans, you can wrap yourself in a towel or buy a ticket without this zone, it will cost you less. The park also has real sand, which is both a plus and a minus at the same time. The plus is that closing your eyes and putting your feet in the sand, you can imagine yourself somewhere on a tropical island. And the minus is that all the sand is carried along the paths of the park and creaks on flip flops. Another entertainment in the park is a home-made hot air balloon, which is dragged by a rope throughout the park by a specially trained employee, it looks very comical) And perhaps the best attraction of the park is Amazonia - a river-pool with a fast current and hot water street.
When the air temperature outside is +5, steam rises from the water and you will not have time to freeze. Tip: wait until dark to swim through the roaring river in the dim light of lanterns and smoky steam - it's very cool! The cost of visiting Tropical Islands is 32 euros and it is located 60 km from Berlin.
