Denmark, Hillerod
Frederiksborg Palace, built by King Frederik II of Denmark in 1560 for his son, the future King Christian IV, is Scandinavia's largest Renaissance palace. For a long time, the castle served as the coronation site for Danish kings. In 1859, Frederiksborg was badly damaged by fire, but then was completely restored. Currently, the castle functions as the Museum of National History.

Frederiksborg is a real castle from fairy tales for me. Mysterious and impregnable at first glance, it captures as soon as you enter inside - fountains, sculptures, details. And for those who have not yet given up, the control shot is a park. The castle is worth a visit. Here, lovers of history and museums, connoisseurs of architecture, and lovers of landscape design will find something interesting for themselves.

Frederiksborg is the largest Renaissance palace in Scandinavia. It is named after its founder, the Danish King Frederick. The first castle on this site appeared in 1560. Then repeatedly rebuilt, burned and restored. It now houses the Danish History Museum. Frederiksborg is located on an island and is surrounded on all sides by water. The palace itself is like a kind of transitional stage between the harsh Middle Ages and the light, carefree Renaissance. Plus a romantic park with winding shady alleys and fountains.
