Brewery Museum Carlsberg

Carlsberg Museum, Carlsberg Museum & Business Centre, Carlsberg Beer Museum
Denmark, Copenhagen
The Carlsberg Brewery History Museum is located on the site of the former Old Carlsberg Brewery in Copenhagen. The factory was founded by Jacob Christian Jacobsen in 1847 and quickly became one of the leading factories in Europe. Carl Jacobsen, the son of the founder of the brewery, was an avid collector and used one of the factory premises as a repository of art objects, the collection of sculptures was especially significant. In 1882, Jacobsen Jr. opened his collection to the public and by 1892 had expanded the display to 19 exhibition galleries. In the same year, Karl moved to his new house, which is located next to the museum.
After the closure of the old factory, it was decided to open here, on an area of 10,000 square meters, a full-fledged museum of the history of beer production with a functioning workshop. In 1913, a bronze sculpture of the Little Mermaid, donated to Copenhagen by Carl Jacobsen, was installed near the Langelinje embankment. A copy of the world-famous sculpture is located in the courtyard of the brewery museum. The museum tells about beer technologies, there are devices for making beer, exhibits from the life of brewers. Visitors can visually see the production process of a foamy drink, and then, with a ticket, try 2 types of beer in the tasting room to choose from 26 available varieties. A stable is open at the plant, where heavy horses carry barrels of beer, you can see retro cars that also transported beer.
Of particular interest is the world's largest collection of beer bottles, numbering more than 22,000 different types in 2014. The bottles are arranged geographically, according to brands and breweries. A business center has been opened at the plant-museum, the halls of which allow organizing various business events, such as conferences, with accommodation for up to 400 participants.

The museum is located in the old building of the Carlsberg brewery. Here are exhibits from the life of the enterprise itself, its employees and even heavy trucks, the preservation of the breed of which we owe to the very founder of the beer production, Jacob Jacobsen, these mighty horses were used to deliver beer barrels. They also store cars that were once used for the same purposes. Field exhibits show the life of brewers, who were provided with two jars of beer of their own production as food at work.
