The Kumu Art Museum presents works by Estonian artists from different years. The museum building is very interesting both inside and outside, and in itself is a "work of art". The museum has a lot of light and space, it is pleasant to be in it. The collection of the museum is not very large, and viewing the paintings will not tire you in time. There are a lot of landscapes of Reval (Tallinn) - it is pleasant to realize that much of what we see now in the center of the Old Town has passed through the CENTURIES almost unchanged. From my point of view, the museum is of more cultural than artistic interest. After all, artists are always at the forefront of social and political events, and, moving from hall to hall of the KUMU museum, you can visually observe (just like in a comic book) how little Estonia developed, how its artists lived and thought ...And they thought about different things!
I was especially amused by the section presenting pop-art artists of the early 90s, but I won't tell you everything so as not to break the intrigue : ). It was not without interactive, beloved by Estonians. Busts and busts of various people are collected in one of the small halls - from Soviet milkmaids to ancient philosophers. Quiet speech in different languages is heard from the speakers built into the busts' stands. When you walk by, you get the impression that this marble or plaster head is talking to you - an amazing feeling! Needless to say, the hall with the busts is the most beloved by the visitors of the museum?
In general, the museum is beautiful, modern, but with old school caretakers who require you to leave jackets and backpacks in the cloakroom, and this despite the fact that they themselves walk around the museum in woolen capes - it's cold.
The KUMU Museum also hosts various concerts.
So, in November 2014, we had the pleasure of listening to the performance of two Scottish musicians here as part of the annual traditional festival "Christmas Jazz".
The museum also has a small souvenir shop and a patisserie on the ground floor.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, Monday is a day off. The ticket price for all exhibitions and expositions of KUMU is 6 euros.
Tip: if you are interested in fine arts and like to go to museums, then at the box office you can get a general ticket for visiting all branches of the Art Museum of Estonia, which, in addition to the Kumu Museum, includes a visit to the Kadriorg Art Museum, the Mikkel Museum, as well as the Niguliste Museum and the Museum Adamson-Eric in the Old City.

The Kumu Art Museum is located in Kadriorg Park. You can get to Kadriorg Park by tamvays No. 1 and No. 3, go to the stop "Kadriorg", as well as by buses 1A, 5.8, 34A, 38 to the stop "J. Poska"
