The unfinished obelisk is located on the east bank of the Nile in the Aswan quarry. The time of its creation is unknown, but scholars date it to the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom.

The mass of the obelisk is 1200 tons, the potential height is 42 meters. Presumably, work on the monument was stopped due to cracks that appeared in the quarries. But if it had been erected, it would have been the tallest building of that time.
