Pyramids of Giza

Giza Necropolis
Egypt, Cairo
The pyramid complex at Giza is located on the Giza plateau in the suburbs of Cairo.

This ancient Egyptian necropolis consists of the Pyramid of Khufu (known as the Great Pyramid and the Pyramid of Cheops), the somewhat smaller Pyramid of Khafra a few hundred meters to the southwest, and the relatively modest Pyramid of Menkaure a few hundred meters further southwest, as well as a number of smaller accompanying buildings known as pyramids of queens, sidewalks and pyramids of the valley. The Great Sphinx is located on the east side of the complex, facing east. The Pyramid of Cheops is the only remaining monument of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The pyramid complex at Giza is a complex of ancient monuments on the Giza plateau in the suburbs of Cairo, the modern capital of Egypt. It is located at a distance of about 8 km towards the center of the Libyan Desert from the old city of Giza on the Nile River, about 25 km southwest of the center of Cairo. It is generally accepted that the buildings were created in the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt during the reign of the IV-VI dynasties (XXVI-XXIII centuries BC). Lots of people, lots of walking.

It's incredible! This is such a whopper that it takes your breath away! I breathed in and almost forgot to breathe out! Impressive for a long time! Can not be conveyed by any photographs, drawings, words! You just have to see it for yourself!

We went on a tour from Hurghada. The road is long, 8 hours, but if you sleep on the bus, then it is tolerable. The pyramids are amazing! They make a strong impression. Touching the ancient history is worth a long journey. Recommend!

What can I say about a trip to Cairo followed by a visit to the pyramids? To my shame and repeated visits to Egypt, I finally visited there. The impression is twofold, I am more inclined to believe that this is just a necessary checkmark in life, that I was there, and most importantly showed the children that it is not worth going there a second time. The only striking impression for me was when we drove up to Giza, and through the haze they began to be seen - the majestic pyramids. And yet, what are the disadvantages of such a trip: 1.

Resting in Egypt, we not only wanted to constantly wallow and enjoy the wonderful Red Sea, but also to see something interesting. We bought an excursion to the pyramids of Giza from a local operator for 40 dollars / person. We were picked up from the hotel at 3 o'clock in the morning, we took dry rations with us, put us on the bus. We drove 550 km along the highway to Cairo. To be honest, there is nothing to see the desert and the highway from the window, and in the background the guide's voice in broken Russian told general information about the country.

In a cool, as for Egypt, month of February - it's time to visit the Pyramids. Not hot, not a lot of tourists to take good photos. A rather long 7-hour drive (from Hurghada) is fully compensated by the grandeur and beauty of the ancient Pyramids...Along with a visit to the Cairo Museum with its unique exhibits, the trip was impressive and educational.

We rested in Sharm, we decided to go to the pyramids, to the Egyptian Museum. From Sharm there is a regular bus that cost about 15 dollars. We landed in Sharm at about one in the morning and were in Cairo in the morning. The bus brought to Tahrir Square, which, in principle, is the museum. The museum is great, really great. We walked through the museum for 5 hours, though stuffy. Then there are taxi drivers near the museum ($10) who took us to the pyramids. Since it was Ramadan and the pyramids were already closed.

From school, I dreamed of being an archaeologist in Egypt, I drew myself in a notebook with a spade, in shorts and a T-shirt digging sand at the pyramids. Um. In shorts and a T-shirt...well...Well, it doesn't matter, a stupid kid's dream has come true! The first thing I did upon arrival in Yegi was sign up for an excursion to the Pyramids! That was the point! I've always wondered why no one who was there can tell you how it was - WOW! Well, because everything is more realistic. But you need to see it! I hope those who are eager to see will have such an opportunity!.

The Pyramids of Giza, perhaps the most accessible Wonder of the World, which you definitely want to visit, especially with the phrase "we live once. " The right excursions have risen in price greatly, but there is a choice, go or fly on an excursion to Cairo. We liked it very much, despite the fact that we were very tired, the impressions are really for a lifetime!

The Pyramids of Giza are the only object that has survived to our time, which was included in the famous list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. They are located on a limestone plateau, hundreds of meters from the southwestern outskirts of Cairo. In ancient times, the inhabitants called this place imentet, which means "West". Then it became known as kher neter ("graveyard"). In the seventh century, the city of Giza was founded nearby. This name has also stuck to the place, which is visited by millions of tourists every year.
