Egypt. 90% of our compatriots know Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. I would like to share my impressions about traveling by ferry on the Nile. My wife and I travel a lot and it is not in our rules to bask on the beach (which is also not excluded), but to learn new things. Get down to business! We flew to Hurghada, three hours by bus (we met at the airport, Toyota 15-seat) and we are in Luxor. We are loaded on the ferry "Princess of the Nile". Service 5 *, honestly - a four, everything is included, except for drinks. Cabin - 5 plus. A year ago we traveled on the ferry "Pricess Maria" in the Baltic, on Maria there is a cabin, compared to the Nile - a camera. The beauty of this trip is that having climbed almost a thousand kilometers up the Nile, we visited all the cities on the coast. As you know: 94% of the population of Egypt lives in the floodplain of the Nile River. In addition to Luxor, we stayed in Edfu, Colombo, Aswan. And of course: the temple of Abu Simbel. Why did I conclude that 90% of Russians do not travel, but sunbathe?
On the ferry there were 220 Russian tourists - 8 people, we were rallied into one small, but friendly and desperate group. In the pool on the ferry, no one except us, the Russians, swam (January). We visited all the temples, tombs, the Nubian village and everything that is worthy of attention on the banks of the Nile. Travel well organized. We are met everywhere in a friendly and welcoming manner. Temple of Abu Simbel is not attached to the description, it must be seen! They returned as part of a convoy on buses (in Egypt, all long-distance movements are carried out as part of a convoy: 12-15 buses under armed guard), and where else can you see real mirages if not in the Nubian desert! Don't believe anyone that the Nile is a dirty, smelly river (as we were told by "experts" before leaving). Clean, clear water, plastic bags and bottles naturally come across, but this is already our, human "merit". Bathed: at a depth of 1.
5 m - you can see the bottom, accidentally got drunk on the Nile water (they brought home a souvenir by order, mixed up the bottles and nothing, so far there was no live and even diarrhea). In general, a five-plus trip! We returned to Hurghada and three more days at the sea - sunbathing, swimming, relaxing (January! ). I advise everyone, you will not regret!
