The Columbus Monument is a 60-meter monument dedicated to Christopher Columbus. The monument serves as a reminder that after his first trip to America, Columbus returned to Barcelona, ​​and it was in this place that the monument was built in 1888.

The Columbus Monument consists of three parts: a round base with stairs and statues of lions, an octagonal pedestal and a Corinthian column with a statue of Christopher Columbus at the top.

Barcelona through the eyes of Columbus.
This is a beautiful monument and one of the symbols of Barcelona. The monument is a column 60 meters high, with a sculpture of Christopher Columbus on top, located near the Rambla in Portal de la Pau. This is not only a monument, but also an observation deck, which can be reached by elevator for 4 €. Opens at 8:30. Great place for photographers and panoramic shots!→
