The Basque Museum in Bilbao - "Museo Vasco" in Spanish - is dedicated to the language, culture, traditions and way of life of this proud people. The collection of the museum, numbering more than 20,000 objects, occupies the ancient building of the former Jesuit school and is divided chronologically into: the prehistoric period, the Middle Ages, the 17th-19th centuries and the modern period. Here you can see interior items, clothes and shoes, ceramics, ancient lithographs and manuscripts, coats of arms and family shields, fragments of altars, sarcophagi, fishing accessories, models of dwellings from different regions, agricultural implements, the first examples of sewing machines and much more.
